Missing Your Husky?

At around 11.30am this morning, in the Citywest Business Campus in Dublin 24, we found this beautiful husky dog who was doing his best to injure himself with cars, lawnmowers and climbing on buildings.

We managed to catch him and bring him to the Animal Hospital in Tallaght but unfortunately he has no ID on his collar and isn’t microchipped.

If his owner doesn’t get in contact I believe he will be sent to Ashtown dog pound, which would be heartbreaking for such a loving and friendly guy.

Anyone?

He’s gorgeous – I hope he is reunited with his owners.

But for the love of jaysus, the amount of dogs without collars or microchips in this day and age is unreal.

The new laws just came in. All dogs now must be chipped by law. A step in the right direction, but we’ve a long way to go.

I dont know what Ashtown pound is like, but this is Ireland and pounds some parts ran private companies with no connection to animal welfare, zero interest in rehousing.. Please contact DSPCA only body I found to be genuine on animal welfare no other I might be wrong but talking from experience

The Ashtown Pound is losing heavily against the Yen.

      Please, get some priorities…..

they just made it mandatory to chip them I imagine all the idiots who bought these trophy dogs are dumping them so they don’t have to pay the fees

      It’s like 20 quid.

This fella looks an absolute dote, I bet he’s being missed by someone.

    Scumbags and their trendy breeds.

You should have to pass a training course before you can own a dog.

This…saw a FB plea over 2 mistreated lurchers from a travellers settlement near Stradbrook Blackrock-they were sent by Guards to Ashtown pound-released to their owner after 2 days -who everyone reported had mistreated them several times before-these people were walking by these dogs in cages reporting to FB & doing NOTHING.
I was in Arizona at the time- contacting DSPCA, lurched rescues, PAWS (hugely underfunded) etc & pound-they were microchipped & unfortunately willingly given back to despicable owners.
Hope this husky finds a better home & shame on those lazy owners who take on a dog like this.
A husky’s birthright is lots of freedom & exercise with discipline & training.

Please make sure owners prove their ownership! He’s so photogenic, they’ll have thousands of pictures to prove it! :)

Post his pic on Lors lost dogs page on Facebook. His owners might have a post up looking for him.

My suspicion is that this fella is too high maintenance for the owner. That breed required experienced handling and a very controlled environment. They are escape artists and can cause a lot of damage when confined.

Also, as a dog ages, the microchips can get a little lost inside their skin. Next time you take yours to the vet, ask them to scan your dog and find the chip….

I’d second the recommendation to post on ‘Lors lost dog’ FaceBook page. Huge success rates for reuniting lost dogs and their owners on that page. If the dog is brought to Ashton pound it will be put to sleep within 5 days… Injection into its leg killing it….. Please don’t be responsible for that. There are plenty of people out there that would love a dog like that so please keep trying to reunite it with its owner and if unsuccessful, do find it a new owner. Please, if approached by someone claiming to be its owner, demand proof that they are genuine, a demand the genuine owners won’t have an issue with. There are plenty of cruel people out there who would claim to own this dog and use it as a ‘bait dog’ for dog fighting, ie, tape its mouth shut so it is unable to defend itself and then set pitbulls etc on it to teach them to fight. You were good enough to save him from been knocked down by traffic, please don’t hand him over to just anyone…. Especially a dog pound or someone claiming to be its owner without solid proof. Thank you for your effort.
