No mention of Hillsborough on The Sun front page. The miserable pr!cks. Even The International New York Times has it on the front page. As if ignoring it means it didn’t happen.

In fairness, they only have to appease their readers who are to thick to be able to figure out how to get info from any other source.

Extensive coverage of the verdict on the inside pages of The Sun plus another apology in a leader column.
As they’ve already run a front page apology some years ago and apologised at least four times in print I’m not sure what else they should do.
Perhaps they thought a front page story might be seen as deliberately provocative.
It’s worth pointing out that their original story came from a reliable police source and there was other anecdotal evidence at the time.
Anyway,as Britain’s most popular newspaper selling 1.7million copies a day I doubt they care that much about the loss of circulation in Liverpool – the 58,000 copies a day they sell in Ireland more than make up for the loss.
      It’s business baby.

Reliable police source = collusion between senior police chiefs, Murdochs gutter rag and Thatchers Government to sully the name and reputation of the supporters and their families.
Next up are the enquiries to investigate such collusion.

The Times (uk) aren’t carrying it on their front page either, conspiracists are saying it’s a Murdoch thing. They might have a point however surely these papers knew that not having it front page would cause more consternation among Scousers.

‘It’s worth pointing out that their original story came from a reliable police source and there was other anecdotal evidence at the time.’

        Not, it didn’t.
Initially it came directly from a local Sheffield wire service & the Sun ran it without any real verification.

A 27 year government / police / media conspiracy at the expense of 96 innocent men, women and children being mentioned in the front page of the paper is “pandering to Liverpool fans”?

Jesus wept. Step out of your football / banter bubble & see the bigger picture.

Apologising for printing lies which blame people for the death of their friends and family = pandering to those people.

Examiner: Water deal to avoid election.

It was predicted that this would bring down the current government but very few imagined it would clip the main opposition in such a way too. It really doesn’t matter what they agree if people won’t pay?

Someone said to me yesterday that it was a hung Dail but it is the politicians who should be hung. That just about sums up the mood of the people now, including some ardent FF and FG supporters.
