An article by Paul Wilson in yesterday’s Guardian with the headline, ‘Jürgen Klopp’s prediction comes to pass as Liverpool vanquish Villarreal’

The same article in yesterday’s Irish Times with the headline, ‘Jurgen Klopp, players and fans make it happen at Anfield’, and attributed to the Guardian Service

BaldyMcBalyFace writes:

Why would I pay for an Irish Times service when I can read the same article for free with the Guardian online service?

It was the same last week with the Tiger Woods article, same story but different headline.

This is really annoying when I’m sitting in work bored, looking for something to read to kill the monotony of being a slave to a corporate conglomerate…

Anyone?

The Irish Times has been reprinting articles from the Guardian for years (especially sports and UK news). Like the one you highlight, they’re usually labelled “Guardian service” at the end. They used to be taken from the previous day’s Guardian which was even worse.

Is this the first time BaldyMcBalyFace has read a paper? Pretty much all papers do this for the occasional article.

I think his point is more that the Irish Times are charging him to read something that’s available for free elsewhere .

They are not charging for one article. They are charging for the paper as a whole. Their website is free (when incognito) anyway.

    I dunno. Why would you?

Why not just open the article in an “Incognito Window” and read it for free anyway..

A black American woman on Twitter said to the Guardian: when are you going to get one of your black people to talk about me.
