Great stuff, Niall and buddies, excellent thinking. There really are some seriously dangerous people walking among us. Perhaps they might wear badges so we could recognize and shun them?

      1. Sheik Yahbouti

Incidentally, where can I get hold of some of this oxytocin?? Sounds like mighty stuff ;-)

    1. Owen C

he had 95 followers on Twitter this morning. Lets see how much free publicity he has gotten this morning.

      Do. Not. Feed. The. Trolls.

Live the profile pic. He must have learned those awesome graphic design skills in the same college he got his medical degree.

  2. Condescending nana

don’t give oxygen to these inbred simpletons, it’s exactly what they crave for.

  3. Harry Molloy

wow, so if you’re gonna rape make sure not to wear a condom.

where do they get these lads?

and I generally understand why many people are pro life but that takes the biscuit!

  4. Clampers Outside!

    Check out the responses….

” Lizzaanne O Leary / @ProLifeLegend plus she doesn’t risk breast cancer. Plus she gets a baby. Plus grandchildren. Plus a clean conscience.”

The benefits of being raped, eh…. lovely people

    1. well

His profile links to his blog and google plus, theres pictures of him at some prolife events too.

  5. Eoin

I think these muppets should just stick to their core argument that abortion is murder. Just leave it at that. You don’t need to go any further. Even babies resulting from rape have the right not to be murdered in the womb. Stick to that kind of stuff and stop trying to find a the silver lining to RAPE. If you can’t make a sensible argument then stay out of it.

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

Speaking of sensible arguments… physician, heal thyself!

If you consider abortion murder, do you think miscarriages are manslaughter?

    2. Ms Piggy

so if abortion is murder, women who have them should be prosecuted, presumably? And should serve the maximum term of 14 years in jail if found guilty?

      1. ethereal

yeah i think he was saying that pro lifers should stick to saying those kind of things, not saying it as something he believes

          1. MoyestWithExcitement

Of course it does. He’s sarcastically offering them advice; they should just stick to the tried and tested ‘abortion is murder’ line because they’re not smart enough to come up with anything else. When they do, they sort of legitimise rape, like the guy above.

          2. Lorcan Nagle

I dunno, it makes sense in as much as he’s pointing out that these two yahoos have ended up being rape apologists in their drive to demonise women who have abortions.

Look at it this way – I’m staunchly pro-choice, and I’ve said repeatedly that I think the pro-life campaigns messed up hugely by not endorsing the protection of life during pregnancy act because it would have made them look like the reasonable ones instead of extremists. It doesn’t mean that I think they have an argument to make, or that they’re not extremists, but that they were so bound to their ideology that they coludn’t see the smart move to make politically. It’s criticising them by pointing out the rational (or vaguely rational) alternative to what they’ve actually done.

          3. Nigel

It’s literally the only pro-life argument that can or should carry any weight whatsoever. No amount of dismissing balstocysts as parasitic lumps of cells or invoking miscarriage rates is going to defuse the sense many people have that it is a living thing that will become a human being and it is being killed, and if the mother is a rape victim, it is being punished for a crime it had nothing to do with. It’s a compelling argument, and I wrestled with it myself for years as it seemed to trump almost all other concerns (not FFA, though or similar situations where the fetus is non-viable or there is a risk to the mother.) In the end I concluded that it could only truly be a winning argument in a world where women were not and are not treated as the women in our world were and are treated. Look to the day when technology makes abortion obsolete through artificial wombs and a properly functional adoption system. That’ll be the miracle that ends abortion. In countries that can afford the tech, anyway.

      2. Sheik Yahbouti

He is. I have seen ‘Eoin’s’ ‘prolife ‘ comments elsewhere. However, he is intelligent enough to see that Niall and Buddues’ rape glee club brings no credit to the so called “prolife” movement.

    1. MoyestWithExcitement

But they’re consistent. I looked at his blog and he has Christian music on it. I don’t think he’s a WUM. I think he’s an invented character alright but I think he was invented by an anti abortion sort. All the “liberal” talk suggests he’s a yank. That said, maybe he’s just crazy. Not beyond the realms of possibility.

    1. some old queen

Well lets face it. That sista isn’t getting much else expanded around town these days.

God that was a camp mo.

  6. Gah!

How do these people survive? Surely there’s a point where a person becomes just too stupid to function. This guy has got to be close!

  7. Owen

Ok, so lets say I was to rape a girl tomorrow, after 9 months she’d have forgotten what I look like (ignoring the fact that child would look like me). Good to know.

Its odd though, cause a lot of people, even years later, can remember the face of their abuser. Very odd indeed. You’d think he’d know that, given his blurb supports the institution known for raping young kids and being found out later.

AH! but they are young BOYS…. so can’t have children! Right, ok. Makes perfect sense now.

Right, I’m off out got the night. I’ll be back in 9 months. #prolife #prorape

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

He hasn’t factored in the women who have sections. They don’t get the amnesia inducing oxytocin rush. Maybe he has some theory about women who have sections deserving to remember their rape because they succumb to unnatural methods.

      1. Owen

Well spotted Daisy. Good thing you pointed though out! I had my coat on already! Perhaps we should contact him for clarity.

For now, I’ll head out this evening, find a pro-lifer woman, have my “20 minute error of judgment”, make her promise not to have a section and I should be ok.

God works in mysterious ways Daisy, and you’re a mysterious girl.

  8. The Real Jane

I like this guy. I like the way he thinks. It’s all about how you can help the ladies with him. By raping them and then forcing them to continue a pregnancy and give birth against their will to cure them of…something, probably.

He’s one of the good ones.

  9. Anomanomanom

Anybody who is not pro life is a murderer. If your not pro life then you must be pro death. And I think every right minded person likes life. When did the nut jobs hijack a term that everyone should use.

  10. ahjayzis

In that case if you’re going to rape someone, the merciful thing to do is to get them pregnant. That’s like the recompense apparently, you may have destroyed their life, but your offspring will put it back together again.

    1. Sheik Yahbouti

Much obliged to you for this info fmong. So this flathead (a la Frances Fitzgerald) has not held meaningful employment – ever. He besmirches the wonderful county of Wicklow, from whence some of my ancestors hale.

      1. Frunobulax

For God’s Sake! Another one lost from St. Mantan’s Church. Will they never stay?!

  11. Janet, I ate my avatar

If they can’t hear they must feel. These nutters are so frustrating. How can you have a sane dialog with fools ?

  12. Nnngh

People seem surprised by his comments but unfortunately it’s a fairly standard example of the moronic statements trotted out by Anti-Choicers every day. Invariably by people who don’t have the first clue about biology, let alone pregnancy. Factoids like this are invented for the arguments against abortion as a solution to rape, quasi-scientific nuggets that are in equal parts heinous and dangerous in attempting to legitimise rape. For this reason alone it is incredibly important to have the visible support of medical professionals who can clearly and simply refute the inaccuracies in such statements. The work by Dr Ciara Kelly, Dr Peter Boylan, Midwives4Choice, Doctors4Choice and many more is invaluable in this regard to dismantle the Anti-Choice myths, these are the people we need to hear more from in the papers, on radio and TV.

As an aside, oxytocin is commonly used in abortions over 13 weeks to induce miscarriage. If the chemical buffed away trauma the way the Anti-Choicers suggest, it would nullify the abortion regret they also repeatedly claim harms women.

  13. Jordofthejungle

An obviously deranged loon unfathomably gets utterly unmerited publicity and winds up #repealthe8th advocates. I’d say that is a win for the deranged loon.

  14. The Real Jane

I had an oxytocin drip when labour slowed down. Not only do I remember having it, I also remember my life before it, some parts relatively clearly.

    1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

No you don’t. You’ve forgotten all the bad bits. Silly The Real Jane.

I, like a whore of Satan, chose a c-section so remember everything.

        1. Kieran NYC

          “I am a lady.”

Took out the redundant parts in your sentence there for you, Jane. Back to the baby-making with you!

  15. Mulder

Got that a bit mixed up.
Put the moron before the oxy.
Clearly, the moron here has been on the oxy again.
