UN HRC decision on abortion is not binding on Ireland
EU spokesman’s opinion on paying for water is legally binding.
Conclusion: Ends Kenny is a buffoon.
    A lying buffoon.

Ah the good oul UN, we’ll never forget Srebrenica, when the Dutch stood by and let 1000s die. Or what about it’s resolutions that Israel ignores? UN me Swiss.

      I lagrely agree with you.

We still should repeal the 8th & then put forward legislation to allow choice.

there were handcuffed to street posts under threat of death, I;m sure you would have handled far more heroically, like you do when you play COD4 in your PJs. As for Israel, nice neighbors they have, mostly women hating fanatic rag heads, they do fine in my book.

        ‘rag heads’

        Really, BS?

I don;t know why you are sticking up for the Dutch UN troops. The Dutch Supreme Court has found them responsible for hundreds of those killed.

BS is appalling at letting comments like this stick but we cant say fupp or sh&&.

Eamon. and what about the UN soldiers raping children in Africa & it being covered up. Or the UN abandoning Ruanda & allowing the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of people. The Un is sh-%e.

Thank you, oh noble one, for allowing me, a humble woman, the greatest of privileges, counselling. I ask not the freedom to make my own choice about my reproductive organs, merely that you tell me I’m entitled to counselling services.

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

Just be sure you don’t end up at one of those “counselling” places that’s a front for anti-choice propaganda

He is correct, it will be divisive.

But so what? That is part of the job of a political leader.
He doesn’t get to choose only topics about which there is an overwhelming consensus.

Besides which, it didn’t stop those half eejits from having a referendum to put it in in the first place. Why was it OK to be divisive then but not now? I mean, not now after women have been kept artificially alive while eaten by maggots, strapped to gurneys and force fed before having a forced birth, women being forced to seek medical treatment abroad in their hundreds of thousands, it being a fully ordinary thing that women are forced to continue pregnancy and give birth (it’s not as easy as it looks, Justin, it’s not just sitting around eating cakes and then giving birth and then everything goes straight back to normal)…We know the horror that this ill thought out, stupid amendment brings to multiple lives all the time. I mean, the fact that it could still be divisive while all that goes on and that’s used as a reason not to do anything…what’s this joker elected for/?To avoid the difficult decisions? Did someone tell him that’s what Taoiseachs are for?

        + 1 The Real Jane
I’m sure all the women (and their partners/ families) who are having their lives torn apart by difficult or dangerous pregnancies are so very sorry that their plight is ‘divisive’ for politicians and other citizens who will never have to experience it.

His evasion of this issue is beneath contempt.

I’m sort of surprised that he doesn’t just offer the referendum as a way of getting it out off his own plate.

    1. Kevin

Because he does not agree with repealing the 8th personally so he does not want to risk it.

      1. mildred st. meadowlark

Because it will make such a difference to him. What with his very fertile womb and all that.

    2. Lorcan Nagle

I figure he’s desperately trying to pass the whole thing to the next government. He just doesn’t want that referendum on his watch and then having to face the backlash from the religious extremists in the following election.

  6. FortyCoats

He looks as if he is doing a sh#t Dave Allen tribute act.

Without the whiskey, obviously…or the wit…or the intelligence.

  7. squiggleyjoop

“I met a woman with two pints in her hands and she asked me to repeal the 8th but I pointed out she shouldn’t be drinking while pregnant.”

  8. Shane

    Woman’s right to choose
No need for any debate just hangs the damn law and let women make their own decisions.

  9. Sheik Yahbouti

More nonsense from this horrible gombeen. ANY issue which requires a vote to decide it is, by definition, “divisive”. I’ve been listening to this rubbish for years – get on with it you p*ick.
