It took me a while to spot the Irish flag. Hopefully the driver has one of those no-excess policies.

        I hope this is not it… http://goo.gl/Um4VDV

        The insurance terms says:

        exclusions
The insurance does not cover damage to the high part of the vehicle (i.e. roof, alcove, and all portions higher than 2.5 meters off the ground), tires, windscreen or window, radio/CD player, TV, GPS, personal effects, interior damage, and frost damage.

Spot on. . .whoever invented “insurance” was an evil genius.
My view of insurance is : you HAVE to (by law) give me lots of money every year for something that might happen…if it doesn’t happen, then we have your money for doing absolutely nothing, you may as well have burnt it! If it does happen, we will wriggle and wangle every law and threat so not to reimburse you, and if we do reimburse you, it is nowhere near what it should be. Excess is the kick in the nads when something does go wrong.

I recently asked my car insurance co. what would my policy cost me per year if I took a €10k excess…of course that’s not allowed! WHY NOT???
Went from 2 to 0 points, no reduction WHY NOT??
I’m older & more mature, no reduction WHY NOT??
Same car, older and worth less, no reduction WH…ah I give up!
It’s just awesome living in the ‘free world’

They’re all over the place in France. Really have to be on the ball driving a camper around and plan your route accordingly.
