Further to the ever-rising motor insurance costs…

Ireland Underground writes:

Come [out tomorrow] and support us. We need every car, every van, every person possible to show the government and the insurance corporations that they answer to us. The power is with the people, they know this, we need to recognise this too.

…Meet us in Dublin at midday. We will drive through the city from midday and from 13.30 we will have on-stage entertainment followed by guest speakers in Merrion Square.

…Here is a brief outline of what we’d like to see happen:

  • Establish a task force (similar to the motor Insurance Advisory Board previously in place)
  • Tackle the claims culture more aggressively.
  • Reduce compensation payouts.
  • More transparent pricing structures of all insurance companies
  • More transparency on out-of-court settlements
  • Insurance purchased within any EU member state to be valid in Ireland

Beep!

FIGHT!

“Jesus people will moan about anything.”

It’s called a democracy. Maybe you earn enough money not to have to worry about recurring costs such as insurance, mortgages, etc but most people do.

      So shut up.

Sort that and everything else will follow.

Three words to describe how this will go tomorrow

I agree with them an all but that fist on the poster just conjures an image of Paul Murphy and Ruth coppinger that turns me away

          + can’t pay, won’t pay

The extreme Left hijack every cause going and actually turn people off protesting with them.

So here we have a much needed protest highlighting the motor insurance rip off culture and still the brain-dead comatose Late Late Show watching lemmings criticise them.

In Victoria, Australia , the compulsory ‘rego’ aka car tax, includes injury insurance . You can buy 3rd party or comprehensive insurance , if you want. A gov agency, the TAC, handles the provision of health services to the injured. It works better than the Irish system.

    “Reduce compensation payouts.”?

I had a numpty crash into my parked car a few years ago and wrecked my wing mirror and whole front wing. Getting a payout was like drawing blood from a stone. This is a ridiculous thing to look for. How about “ensure payouts actually happen”??!!

This: “Insurance purchased within any EU member state to be valid in Ireland”, as mentioned above by Mickey Twopints, is the only thing that you need to aim for.
