You need to buy more… they’ve limited what you can use, so they can extort more mula out of you.
    Hope that helps.

Given the percentage of porn on the internet, it begs the question is the internet owned and run by porn barons.
Though if it whats the people want.
    Then.

My own Three billing cycle is inclusive of the 1st of the month. So fresh data allowance from midnight tonight.

it’s very likely your bill doesn’t start on the 1st of the month. you’re probably near the end of your billing period. log in online and check.

Your billing cycle is probably sometime in the first week of the month and not necessarily the 1st day of the calendar month.
I blow through my allowance almost every month and get my 3gb back around the 6th of the month.

The data metrics of phone companies are always questionable. I got a text a few days ago from Vodafone saying I had used my daily passport allowance of 50mb while being in NI. I was there for an hour, no apps loaded and not even using the thing.

    Its a scam.

I had a dongle wifi thiny there with Meteor that I wasn’t using.. so I cancelled it there around Dec.
I got a refund back in April for a pro-rata’d amount they had charged me in advance for.

I found that a bit odd. To get it back 4 months later.

I see too they’ve been fined for over charging and not applying discounts –

Judge John O’Neill described the company’s explanation that they had technical problems as “gobbledygook”.

that is odd. you probably should have kept a better eye on it but at least you got your money back :-)

I had asked at the time Harold.. they told me they’d charge me for all of January in advance, when I cancelled in Dec, but that I’d get back a refund afterwards, for the portion of January that was beyond the month’s notice they required.
It shouldn’t be up to the consumer to nag for their money back Harold.

Another thing I noticed they would do is, you could have unlimited calls to other meteor numbers, with a fair usage policy of an hour… if you went over the hour, it would charge you.. Fair enough, so you hang up and call the person back.. but once you’ve gone over the hour – at all – even by a minute, you weren’t just charged for that minute, you were charged for all subsequent meteor to meteor calls for the rest of the day, due to a technical glitch, they advised me. They couldn’t put you back onto the free meteor to meteor calls they said until the next day and were insistent I pay, due to their technical glitch.. I don’t think so.

Isn’t three all about the All You Can Eat* data?

*Assuming you can’t eat more than 10gb.

    1. Wayne.F

Three *reasonable data is 60gb in a bill cycle. If the OP is on prepay with Three and teethering their device that may be a problem. As using a pre pay device as a hot spot is not covered in Three T&C for pre pay

SIXTY GIGGABONGOS?! I’m paying a fortune for 10 with EE, you’ve just made my mind up!

It’s awful and I’m not proud, but I’m way too much of a snob for Tesco Mobile.

          2. Anne

I’ve bought clothes in Tesco.. *(blushes profusely)

I sometimes shop in Aldi, but I bring a Dunnes reusable bag so the neighbours can’t tell. *(breaks into a cold sweat)

I’ve used the vouchers at the back of food receipts for discounts off McDonalds food *(deep breaths) Only in the drive through though, as I don’t want other customers seeing me with my discount.

            Don’t tell anyone..

            You’re under 30, right?

      2. Anne

When you say ‘not covered’ what do you mean? It’s none of their beeswax what you’re doing..if you’re within the limit like.

    Top Tip.

Stand outside a Starbucks and download the internet before going home.

Did you load Broadsheet by any chance? All those hi-res images grinding onto your screen at the same time would probably juice your usage.

I worked with a company who provided software to mobile operators, in a meeting one day with one of the operators , its was mentioned that they were going to charge 5euro a month for new business they were chasing in Africa, the comparable plan in ireland cost 55euro a month, I asked how do you working out your charging model. The reply was ‘we charge what the market can bear’ , we really are fools with money here…

I exceed my limit early every month but don’t care as it’s a work phone. #boomisback

3 do the best data deal.. Which isn’t saying much from all the rip- off’s.
20e for 30-day all you can eat data
20e can be used as credit or maybe it uses 10e..
On pay as you go / no contract.

I pay the €20 per month deal with Three and so far, since April, I’ve been grand! You’ve to top up within a month and with that you get all you can eat data, free 3 to 3 calls, 3000 texts, 3000 skype minutes, free any network calls at the weekend AND the money rolls over. So it’s not too shabby :)
