Seem like a cool pair of lads. Hopefully this will grow the sport, we’ve plenty of rivers and big strong galoots

It’s also spelt incorrectly in your post… But then is that the point?! Scharcasm, liiiike? You post-modernist playful posting so and so you…!

  2. Spaghetti Hoop

The lads deserve the welcome and Skibberoo-ha for their winning speech alone. And yes, plenty more rowing potential in almost every county. Unlike the investment in an empty boxing centre, lets hope the school kids all get a chance on the water as part of their school sports curriculum.

You should appreciate it; BS have removed a post about tragic story in Cavan because you and Mr Tish embarrassed yourselves on the thread by making your usual bullying, disgusting, insensitive, aggressive, one-upmanship trolling comments. You should be ashamed, you’ve been at it for the past few years on here and I don’t know how or why you haven’t been banned; this forum was a pleasant place until you, Mr T and Moyest became obsessive, stalking bunny boilers. BS won’t exist in five years because saddos like you are driving people away from this site.

Here here… I have said something to this effect on this site myself before.

      2. Don Pidgeoni

My comments were nothing of sort. They were from the point of view of someone who has been the family member of people like that family and how this was not the time or place for comments on this event knowing the type comments that posted here. And as suspected, it descended into amateur speculation on what had happened. So disrespectful. As are both of your comments from a relatively about anon accounts rather than your usual.

        Good night.

        1. Steph Pinker

What do you mean your comments were ‘nothing of sort’? Every day, week and month on this site you display yourself as nasty, petty, sarcastic, insecure and mean-spirited, but today you went beyond and above your usual idiotic self, as did Mr T, when a news post about a sad, tragic death in Cavan was removed because you couldn’t help but revert to type in the comments. You and the two others mentioned in my previous comment have absolutely ruined Broadsheet because you think you show how superior you are by patronising and belittling other commenters; all it does is show how pathetic and insignificant you are when it comes to a world outside of the anonymous internet – as you so embarrassingly showed on the post about Cavan earlier.

          1. Don Pidgeoni

I mean what I typed. But interesting you rarely comment as Steph except to attack others. Physician heal thyself etc.

            I’ll leave you to it.

          2. Billy Kremlin

You can’t just take the criticism. A bit of self realisation would be too cutting. Do your usual, a mean bully comment.
You could take the high road and prove yourself better than the others.

          3. An Emotional Tish

Just FYI, “An Emotional Tish” is not “Tish Mahorey”.

I suspect that “Don Pidgeoni” is not the “The Unstoppable Force” one either.

This doesn’t lessen the damaging effect that the two original users, and others (such as myself), are causing to BS.

I (an Emotional Tish) got baited by that user into a back and forth. I should have been the bigger troll but I just cannot help myself in the face of such orse-holery.

I use three static IPs to access BS and never get an IP ban. Pointless as I can change them later. I re-reg a new username every week or so, alternating between concern troll, outright troll and general poo-stirring, on both sides of the political spectrum. I acted as ABM for several weeks, as well as many other popular “brand” usernames.

FWIW, about €1000 will get BS a quality commenting system similar Kinja or (ugh, Discus) which allows for threaded conversations, username probation etc. Well worth the long term investment, but I won’t hold my breath.

I’ve posted variations of this post a few times, always gets deleted.

            So now you know ;)

          4. Billy Kremlin

Sad. This site has gone to the dogs. It’s a shame the level of commenter doesn’t reflect the level of work BS puts in. I’ve had enough. Sad little boys.

          5. Steph Pinker

This is the only username I have on this site, and if I comment infrequently, it’s because I don’t visit the site as much as I used to – because of people like you – you can turn the most mundane, unimaginative post into an abusive fight, then you circle the wagons, stalk and hang off the coat-tails of those who agree/ disagree with you – depending on your churlish mood. I also find it hypocritical but true to form that you post as Don Pidgeoni, yet, you try to call me out as using an anonymous username; physician heal thyself etc…

          6. An Emotional Tish

            Hi Billy

I actually do post thoughtful contributions most of the time. Trolling begets trolling. It’s like red rag to a bull to most of the trolls here. It’s like a Gresham’s Law of commenting.

I post regularly on around 10 online communities and BS is easily the worst policed in this regard. It’s a feature, not a bug, sadly.

          7. Caroline

lol BS ya gotta give the trolls a break. Trying their best but only human. Too much provocation. They were doing so well and then BAM! How about a simple thousand bucks for a complicated registration system… to save them from themselves! Don’t you see, it’s not their fault… it’s yours. So in a way, aren’t they the real victims here. Think of the brand usernames.

          8. An Emotional Tish

            Caroline,

€1000 is a drop in the ocean if your site is on the scale of BS. Might be a lot to you, but in the scheme of things it’s really not much. A telethon, perhaps?

          9. Caroline

It’s a sobering thought. They can afford to do it, but they don’t.

Maybe they don’t want you to get better.

Maybe they’re not your real mom?

          10. Ron

here here. I think Steph has perfectly summed up the collective feeling of the majority of people that comment on BS. Don Pidgeoni is only one of a few that have destroyed this site. I don’t understand why he/she/it has not been removed and blocked.

        2. Billy Kremlin

I really hope you take these comments on board Don. I often to through periods of leaving this site because the comments section makes me wince.
Not because it is so mean spirited, it’s just down right pathetic.

    1. Otis Blue

That’s in Leap Village near Skibbereen.

Beyond Leap, beyond the law as the saying goes locally.
