An installation of a typical family room in Direct Provision by Doras Luimní a number of years ago

Galway Anti Racism Network writes:

As a part of Culture Night [this Friday, from 6pm to 9pm], GARN and MASI (Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland) are asking people to experience the restricted space of a room in direct provision.

The dimensions of a room in a direct provision centre will be mapped out on the ground in Eyre Square to give some idea as to the space in which people are forced to live while awaiting their application to be decided.

There will be statements from people in direct provision available for people to read as well as pictures of other centres around Ireland. A stall will be close by for further information.

Yeah, screw those SJW clowns! It’s bitter social rejects like you that really knows what’s up. You should screenshot that post and send it to your pals on 4chan and world of warcraft. They’ll think you’re the coolest 30 year old virgin on your street.

The problem with SJWs is that they care about stuff then they make me think about stuff like how I might have a general advantage in life by being a dude and white and middle class and that makes me sooooooo angry.

Brilliant satire as always. I love these fake alt-right postage of yours. But you need to start calling people “cucks” to really give the illusion that you’re one of those idiots.

This is our generation’s Magdalen laundries. Can’t wait for the INQUIRIES and COMMISSIONS OF INVESTIGATION to get going. What a backwards kip.

But thankfully there’s plenty like inhuman above who think that so long as you’re not being chased by knives, you’ve nothing to complain about.

He/she is a troll … a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion, often for their own amusement.

I enjoy holding up a mirror to them. I used to get sick of my mega drive games after a couple of months. Almost a year at this now and it’s still fun.

Yeah well done Moyest on helping drive the level of debate on Broadsheet down to the sewer.

            Some achievement, in fairness.

You lot need to get out of your PC, virtue signalling, Marxist echo chamber and listen to what real people think about issues….. Mind blowing idea right?

Stop reading HUFF PO and get a job.

Hmmm. Maybe you really are just taking the pish. Although telling the same joke every day for months still makes you look crazy.

Accommodation like this would be deemed ‘relatively standard’ student accommodation in a lot of cities around Ireland. Single bed, desk, chair, a lamp, dampness all for 300-700 rent p/m. And many places advertised on daft especially in Dublin are worse than this (ie under stairs) and advertised for even higher amounts of euro p/m. Its not as if they are living in fire hazard flats, a car, in the park or out in the wild. A safe roof over their head is alot more than many student, working class and homeless people have access to imo.

And they don’t have to pay for food, education, sanitary products, travel expenses, electric/gas/water bills, medical expenses, childcare, school expenses, prsi PAYE USC etc etc. But sure feck it lets give them the €188 a week altogether and leave someone else on a bench in Phoenix park or a child without breakfast in a hostel.

Not saying situation is ideal and processing time in these centres is ridiculous but they have a room and safety so it must suffice.
