        Broadsheet isn’t and has never been a ‘credible news source’. It’s a blog. Some commenters here insist on referring to it as a news source but that doesn’t change the fact that it is nowhere near one.

        Credible news sources have non-anonymous journalists who produce (ostensibly) balanced and fact checked articles. Broadsheet carefully picks and chooses the articles it publishes to match the anonymous authors agenda as well as some stuff about cats.

        Broadsheet is no different from r eddit on the ‘credible news source’ scale and never has been.

          By ‘credible news source’ I was referring to the subjects/articles the blog highlighted, often from journalists who produce balanced and fact checked articles.
          As for Broadsheet carefully picking articles to suit it’s own agenda, isn’t that what all current affairs publications do?

          My problem is I thought ‘the agenda’ didn’t involve the silliness above. I’d hoped anyway. Should have known when Bodger said he didn’t believe in man made climate change and that the moon landings were faked.
          ‘Should have known’ is a bit disingenuous. Of course I knew. But I’d been coming/commenting here for so long (since the first year of the site) that I didn’t want to believe it. My own sad sack denialism.

            Marina Abramović is an artist who collaborated with another artist on a project called “Spirit Cooking”. Details of the project are outlined in rotide’s link above. The email is probably referencing a dinner to mark to launch/end of the project. Absolute non-story.

    I used to think the Internet was a revolutionary force for good in levelling the knowledge playing field. Khan Academy, free video lecture courses available from prestigious universities, endless YouTube tutorials.

    But now I’m not sure we’d have been better off without it. It’s legitimised the nutters and brought them mainstream credence. This US election is that writ large.

    How can this site justify these posts without a peep on Trump’s past, and then claim to be a shining light on cases like the Dalkey House of Horrors, the disappearance of Philip Cairns and Mary Boyle, the abuse scandal in Irish swimming, the Bill Kennelly case etc etc?

    Can you please answer this Bodger? Oh and before you mention Bill’s misdeeds, he’s not running. Hillary is.

        I believe Hillary is capable of it. She cackled when Gaddafi died, and bad as he was, I find that a bit sick. I have no proof either way, but when you match Trump’s words and actions together it’s likely he’s very very capable of it. But again it’s the best of a bad bunch. I don’t think Hillary has sexually assaulted anyone herself, personally.

        Even if Trump is not guilty, there’s the way he talks about half the population. On that alone he’s a non-runner.

    Clinton and Trump are both corrupt. You can split hairs as to which more but you cannot argue that both will probably be dead within twenty years. One or more may hang on a bit longer, but not for much. Now that may seem a decent time when you are twenty but it really is not.

    So what motivates people to keep grabbing at power when they should be doing other things? I honestly don’t know but if the internet is of any use then this is surely the real question we should be asking.
