Walter Hobbs

Walter Hobbs was IBRC’s independent expert who oversaw the massively controversial sale of Siteserv to Denis O’Brien-owned Millington.

In a memorable RTÉ Prime Time appearance last year, Mr Hobbs described the deal as the best the state could have achieved.

So what of Walter now?

A Young Covey writes:

That guy now seems to be this guy and nobody appears to have raised a single question about it….

Good times.

The “Phoenix” phenomenon as it used to be known – more recently the “John Tierney” phenomenon. How egregious a failure do you have to be in a job before people rush to employ you in a similar position?

John Tierney is not a failure, he’s been appointed to do what he had always done. Move colossal amounts of public money into private ownership, legally.

    This is depressingly familiar

On a lighter note I always chuckle to myself when I read “Adult children” in relation to someone’s offspring. I always think of giant man bodies in suits with baby heads on them
