I’d like to go, and get the best seat near the fire in a pub after each gig
Eir, festival Eir. Festival of Eir.
Eir.
Fantastic stuff. Amy Lives!
For anyone who’s been to this, you have to admit, the aroma of self-congratulatory, muso smugness that pervades Dingle while it’s on is vomitous. Everyone also has their “soundness” turned up to 11, if they perceive they are talking to someone “cool”, or “in-the-know” and is a bit of a tit to you if you’re just a normal punter. The very worst of insular Irish Cultúr Vultúrs, waddling about in a parade of smug fakery you wouldn’t be long getting very, very bored of. Central Casting at its finest.
Éadmhar ar bith?
Yes, most likely.
It does get very precious down there. Not a fun place to be.
Not a good jam then.

I’ll get me coat.
Does anyone other than journalists and PR types go to this?
Yes, musicians! Every musician scrapes together their dole to convince the journos and PR people that they are cool. Then they all shuffle from bar to bar to seee the absoluuuuutely amazzzzzzzing gigs like.
Agree with the “precious” comments
It’s an awfully important scene so it is.
Great to see that girl in the tea dress and hair slide who does cutesy songs about riding around on a bike with a basket and bluebirds and cupcakes and stuff finally getting some well deserved air play.
And that band who went to that school who are a bit like The Thrills really but super edgy and that because all their lyrics are nonsense about omelettes and there’s no discernible melody.
And those two girls who own that Tegan and Sara album and who do all the Bord Failte adverts and that and have a Harp.
And some Black People. Sure where would we be without the Old Rap and Blues music, eh?
It makes Jools Holland look like the Liverpool Festival of Psychedelia.
