that building looks like a building site. and the ceiling above where they were sleeping looks like it’s not 100% intact.
Hey Mark, here’s an idea, head there tonight and offer shelter in your own home to one or two of the unfortunates. No? Yeah, thought as much.

The property is owned by Linders of Smithfield, not Dublin City Council.
In fairness its not just unfortunate people who are homeless that sleep there, as in harmless, Its bloody full of junkies. So I don’t see the problem.

Why would anybody, you think it’s ok for drug addicts to be widdling and poo-ing and sleeping there. And that’s not a story it’s fact.
The fencing was erected after a homeless couple set up permanent residence on the spot. They were there night and day for about a week and a half.
Their mattress is still there, but that’s okay. It’s just litter and doesn’t offend passers-by quite as much.

2016 Marks the year that Ireland Officially learned nothing from its mistakes and made everything worse for its citizens. The homelessness problem is at very shocking levels now. Some friends recently visited Dublin from Spain and could not believe the homeless numbers on the streets, and also the fact that the Gov’t were doing nothing to help.
The Financial crash on the way because of Brexit and Trump should soften everyones cough. Don’t buy a mortgage, very risky

The headline about the sprinklers sounds outrageous until you click through and read the story. They weren’t installed because people sleep there but because people consistently leave hazardous waste there, almost every day.
The workers have been dealing with blood, faeces and used syringes in their doorway for years. It is not compassionate to expect anyone to endure that. A reputation for cleanliness is absolutely vital to a tattoo parlour: any indication of poor standards or unhygenic conditions could rightly send their business under. I get the imoression that they were at the end of their tether and I don’t know what else they could have done.
how about put a shutter up instead of a sprinkler system?
