What’s the bet that the journalist who approached Mattie McGrath to name the two tds, works for the Independent?

Of course it was. And being allowed to wander the dail, will full access to TD’s. He/she got lucky with Farrell- not the sharpest tool in the box, but a tool nevertheless.

Don’t really get this, this journalist is getting hammered for passing on the names of people involved in murders. So what???? I say fair play to him/her!

If the journalist had any information on murders he should contact the gardai himself or herself, not orchestrate a schoolyard fight in the Dail to suit his employers agenda.

And the Arklow speed trap no longer exists. It was right at the end (and the beginning) of a motorway where speeds went from 100km to 120km. Fish in a barrel location. But the section is all 120km now and those vans haven’t been there since the new section was open.

A journalist asks a TD to name fellow deputies in the dail in order to scandalise the place and create a distraction about dail privilege. Today the Irish Independent’s rabble rouser in chief, Brendan O’Connor writes a front page op-ed piece about how he should become a TD in order to abuse dail privilege. Meanwhile, a media baron awaits the outcome of a highly politicised court case designed to narrow the scope of dail privilege.

    Can it be this transparent?

    A. A. Gill: sexist, racist, misogynist. No a word about that in the obituaries. He was a thoroughly nasty person.
