They’re a shower of bold-faced thieves. And I’m being nice when I say that.
Shane Ross is looking for ‘comments ‘?!? Ross, you are in Government, you have Ministerial responsibility for transport – would you ever eff off you utter disgrace. I’m a pro Independent voter – what a sad and sorry disappointment you have been. Resign you waster.
I do not think you understand how twitter works…..someone else has tweeted this example and is looking for a comment from Ross,, that is why he referenced his twitter handle….
Scarlet for you.
Just so I have this clear….Shane Ross isn’t a 32 year old female with no penalty points either?
Depends which website you are on
It’s OK dearie, I’ll survive.
How awful for sheik yerbouti? Will he ever be able to live with the shame?
5902.43 = go away.
5902.43 = elaborate plot to murder you by causing a heart attack.
It’s ta here writing for Shane.
Have you considered using public transport?
Speaking of:
516 jobs under threat as Bus Éireann advised to close its inter-city Expressway routes http://jrnl.ie/3180589
I saw that. Jays the culling of public services will never end. It’s either that or the cyclist lobby is stepping up their game
Is this a Joke!!?
LicenCe.
That’s like the quotes you’d get when you first started driving. In 98 my first quote was £2100. It’s a bloody joke
Pity you had to link to The Sun rag.
In fairness this story is classic gold

That’s amazing
I would like to build one that looks exactly like me so I could make love to myself
Shouldn’t you be preparing for the Inauguration instead of posting to Broadsheet, Donald?
+1
Dont Buy (or link to) The Sun
Insurance fraud is the big issue. I had a woman trip over her own feet in my shop during the summer. She acknowledged it was her fault and all was fine. 3 months later and a solicitors letter arrived with a completely fictional version of events. She’ll most likely get a few bob and my premium will go up
i reckon ireland has to be one of the most litigious nations in the world. i think it stems from the people of ireland being financially kept down for years, so a quick sue and ya might come into a winfall and then ya dont have to worry about not earning much, getting taxed lots, and having extra bills landed on you along with ridic rents etc.
I think its our theiving culture. We must have the highest bicycle theft rates in the world! Also when Irish society has nicknames like “Compo” for the regular fraud claims that occurs week in week out we have to admit its a culture. Like dole culture, which is something a lot of European countries have difficulty understanding, except for the UK where its a similar problem.
thieving
As a commenter noted here on a different thread, it’s possibly to do with our Catholic lineage. Think Italy, Spain, South/Latin America, the Paddies, We’re all a bunch of crooks. Compare us to those of Lutheran lineage…they’re all so straightlaced and trustworthy
Also, a friend works for a car rental company near the airport. They flat out refuse to rent cars to a certain irish minority. He said they often incur legal action as a result but it’s worth dealing with.
What used to happen regularly was the car would be rented. Driver with 4 passengers would slam on brakes at a roundabout or junction. All 5 adults would role out of with whiplash and chi Ching
“All 5 adults would role out of with whiplash and chi Ching”
Ah good aul Chi Ching, hasn’t really been in much since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
It was a pity he didn’t pass that audition for Iron Man 2, though. To play Whiplash.
Fraud is certainly an issue but not the main one.
Insurance companies have to keep large sums to cover future pay-outs. They take a lot of that and invest it. Over the last decade they’ve made huge losses on their investments and are charging extra now to try and cover those losses.
They’re also not allowed to invest as much now, because of those previous losses. And interest rates are through the floor.
Ah the poor craythurs Musha wouldn’t you give a penny to the chislers
This government can’t fart without spending at least €200,000 on some sort of report to find out what has been blatantly obviously all along.
* Have to reduces legal costs. You don’t say.
* Insurance pay outs for minor injuries are too high. Get away, you genius.
* Need more enforcement to catch uninsured drivers. Well cut my legs off and call me shorty, never though of that.
…and anything to do about cartel behaviour?
Encourage the jobs it creates.
If we are in the EU – how is it not possible for me to ring an insurance company in Estonia or France to insure my car in ireland? Did they lobby the laughably malleable minister responsible to cut off that benefit to the citizen, like the pharmacists did..
Winner! Its supposed to be a single market and consumers are supposed to benefit from that.
+ so much this
