I know you don’t normally do this but we need some help. This beautiful boy was found in the Phoenix Park today – no collar, no microchip, very friendly and well looked after. Someone has to be missing him. We can’t keep him so, if we can’t find his owners, we will have to bring him to the pound which we really don’t want to do… please share for us. Call 087 7454828.

Please don’t bring him to the pound.

He’ll be put to sleep (killed) within 5 days if he’s not claimed by his owner. Contact the following in an initial effort to find his owner…. Facebook page ‘Lors lost dogs’. She has a very high success rate of reuniting lost dogs with their owners, due to her huge following who re-post the lost dog notice far and wide. If no luck there, there are so many dog rescues in the Dublin and surrounding area… Dog’s Aid/Dog’s Trust among many other which are listed on Lor’s lost dog page. (Note that these are not the government-Run pounds, which are hell for lost dogs). Print and put notices including the dog’s picture on lamp-posts/sign-posts in the area he was found. There is a very high probability that his owner is frantically looking for their pet. Again, please don’t hand him into a pound….. 5 days is the most he’ll get.

…… or failing all of the options I’ve already mentioned, return him to where you found him. Dogs have a very strong ability to find their way home.

Anything is better than a pound.
