“You can’t walk a few feet without hearing a racial or homophobic slur”

The lies and exaggeration starting early.

I’m an optimist and think it won’t be nearly as bad as people fear. After all, if he doesn’t build a wall and kick out all the foreigners, and impose massive import taxes, the world will breath a sigh of relief and agree that it wasn’t that bad after all.

I do hope so. Like hoop, I worry what the next few years will bring.

I will say only this. America is a divided nation, more so than over here, and it’s one of extremes, and Trump, for some people, is the very definition it. They’re in for a rocky few years. I doubt this will be the last of the anti-Trump protests.

If I’m being honest, I’m hoping he does something that leads to his impeachment.

          Anyone listening to him now?

Worse than I feared, chilling. He’s going to close the borders and wipe ISIS off the face of the earth. And “the mighty creator” is on his side.

Religious conviction is a scary and potent thing. As we’ve already seen too many times.

          2. Martco

a load of rhetoric filled codswallop around protectionism & patriotism…already contradicting himself too

meaningless, but chilling. not good for non citizens.

at least he said “white, black ,brown ,patriots bleed the same colour blood”. hope that is remembered

          4. Brother Barnabas

Showed his utter lack of class, too – deeply ungracious and childish digs at previous administration. Effectively accused Obama of defrauding working class Americans for the past 8 years.

It looks to be edging towards civil war, the yanks love that. Anyhow, once all that permafrost really starts melting, this won’t matter a cent.

Anarchists need a run out now and again. You can tell when they break McDonald’s windows that they aren’t there to protest a presidential inauguration.

I saw a great quote today. “If enough snowflakes get together, they form a blizzard… and that can shut a country down.”

    2. realPolithicks

I’d rather be labeled that, than support a right wing, racist , misogynistic, xenophobic, homophobic pig like Donald Trump.

Look, it’s Friday. Why not indulge in some wine/tea/whiskey/hallucinogenic substances and take a night off?
Either way, have a pleasant weekend.

        1. realPolithicks

I’m way too old to be considered a “snowflake” Daisy, but I’ve been happy to call myself a Liberal all my life. With the direction that politics has been taking in many countries lately, it’s more important than ever to stand up and be counted against these bigots.

          1. Sheik Yahbouti

Never more important, real. Black is white – liberal is a dirty word ; populism is a dirty word. So many important values and philosophies have now been demeaned and devalued by people who don’t realise that their present freedoms and comforts would not exist but for those same values. How did we lose sight of this.

          2. Clampers Outside

Anything goes attitude eventually results in clashes, add that to the idea of the left that all views are valid and you have a very wide field within which many groups offend each other and all are righteous…. followed up with the indignation, and unwillingness, to give or compromise due to the lofty notions of all positions held… and then chaos ensues…. BLM offends some, some black people, today’s march

          3. Clampers Outside

            …bouncy bus…

…march is selective in its solidarity creating tension. Our own left wing parties not being more unified is a good example in my humble opinion… a fractured left is an impotent left….

    3. Nat King Coleslaw

“Lefty snowflake liberal thugs”. I’m bleedin’ morto for you, you fuppin’ yoghurt.

      @Topsy

Look at you, with the snowflake word. Nobody embodies snowflake more than Donald Trump.

    1. Daisy Chainsaw

I think it’s cute that you think Trump swearing on a bible means something! He may as well be swearing on The Art of the Deal, or any other works of fiction!

        1. Nat King Coleslaw

          Wow.

That Topsy is sure making me angry with his comments.

He must be one of them “Super Trolls” I read about.

          1. Topsy

NAT. Anger is not a solution.
Do you think everyone should agree with the snowflake, offended, trigger, safeplace looney liberal left clowns?

      1. Clampers Outside

But his Bible swearing is a bit of a big deal… it’s a sign of the scarey side of Trump. He had six evangelical Christians and a rabbi at the inauguration which is not unusual itself, but apparently that’s double the normal number of clergy, but with no Protestant representation at all.

        Evangelicals are the worrisome part.
Steven Pinker shared a piece on it on the Twitter machine last night (I’m on a bus, and crap with copying links on ph…)

ISIS are just ordinary Muslim men who are understandably lashing out against racist western oppression enforced by the united states, during the bush years and now again under drumpf but not during the 8 years obama was in power as his administration especially the rightful president Hillary Clinton as secretary of state supported the Arab Spring and brought hope and change to the middle east.

      1. Spaghetti Hoop

        ‘understandably lashing out’?
Right. Blowing people is quite okay for you in the cause of political defiance?

          1. jusayinlike

Go easy on Jimmy guys, she’s from Nigeria and was well treated by the EU and obviously recognises with Obama and crooked Hillary..

      1. Nigel

Someone pointed out that because of his various unresolved conflicts of interest he was eligible for impeachment as soon as he was sworn in.

        1. Deluded

          Gentlemen’s agreements, Nigel, don’t apply.
          Remember his tax-returns?

There’s tons that needs to be done, Trump just needs to build some stuff, even just start it, and he’ll look like a hero. https://www.usatoday.com/story/80512038

A strategic abandonment of North Africa/South West Asia is very possible, they’ll fight among themselves now.
Go off and poke China instead.

  3. Happy Molloy

I thought he’d have to give up the aul twitter machine when he officially became POTUS but he’s still rambling away

      1. Spaghetti Hoop

The first US Prez to be impeached I hope. He appears inept. But as I said, the ordinary American will just go back to worrying about paying their rent / mortgage and health insurance…..

          1. Spaghetti Hoop

No. They weren’t successfully impeached; Tricky Dicky resigned beforehand and the other Dicky apologised.

          2. conspiritor#1

Both were acquitted. So technically SH is correct.

Republicans will wait until they can safely throw him under the bus, and then the fun will begin. However, the prospect of Pense as Prez is significantly more distasteful than even the Donald.

  4. Eric Cartman

The leftist tears make it all worthwhile. I can’t wait for the full 8 years of this. You lost leftists, your rhetoric is dead.
