Judith Goldberger writes:

Despite all the MSM huffing and puffing about fake news and the po-faced sanctimony of media platforms such as the Irish Times, the Irish Times still publishes something they admit is not verified by a 3rd party independently. Oh, but it says “purported”. That’s OK then, innit? It’s all clicks…

Fight!

the diff between “fake news” and this is that fake news wouldn’t say “purportedly”, or “allegedly” or any other ass-covering legal phrase.

for me the issue is the tacky display of a man’s death for clicks. it’s cheap and should be beneath the Irish Times.

BBC had CCTV footage from the airport last night. I think the “alleged” and “purportedly” can be dropped.

Another post where Bodger complains about the Irish Times while having no problem in using pieces from the IT. For free obviously. The usual hypocrisy.

I think that this might be more akin to the posts like the empty Luas stop from the other day – Broadsheet baiting its readership with self-evidently dumb posts.

Men who have sex with Men (MSM) may be a market which newspapers have completely ignored. They should do long form fact based writing with a few cheeky “personals” in the back pages ; )

Seriously though – if you say MSM then STFU – your contempt for any source but your own is essentially the very same thing the alt right do. You are Milo, Richard and that sh!tty lad from Wicklow Judith – do you really want that???

Eh multiple online news agencies worldwide had this footage up more that 24 hours ago. The Irish Times are just chicken and display that most Irish quality of “covering your ass”. The old broadband speed mustn’t be up to much around Tara Street if they can’t google this.

Catering for Una Mullally and her Nokia hipster handset no doubt. Perhaps Zappone will hand her Enda’s. She’s handed her everything else.

  7. Gah!

And why do we need to see the footage? We know someone has been murdered. Described details are bad enough. Looking at such footage outside of a police station or court of law serves no purpose. It’s just retrospective rubbernecking.

I don’t want to watch this but I did go and see John Wick last night.

Turns out I can separate real from fake violence after all. Yay for my moral compass.
