This happens all the bloody time.

At least this time it’s without the embaressment of the #marref crowd thinking they were special snowflakes.

That’s exactly the point, I’ve never had that experience entering any other country even if they were outside the EU. The fact that it happens here so frequently is a disgrace.

Arrived from Frankfurt yesterday.Reminded me of when the Gardai pulled the blue flu stint. It is ridiculous. Three Gardai taking ages to check all passports. First impression is that we are a joke

Try arriving in Istanbul airport & you’ll know about delays are about & the extrotionate payment you must pay to get into the country.

It’s no longer run by the Gardaí, it’s a private outfit and they’re awful and guilty of chronic understaffing.

Well it aint for the cheap booze in Temple Bar. I am guessing a Ryanair fare giveaway to fill planes. Who remembers the old 99cent flights?! RIP the 99 cent flights.

Reason for the queues is that flights from UK are filtered into these lines. As a result (a) travellers from the UK are being asked to show passports before entering (which is NOT a legal requirement). and (b) as a result the volumes of travellers from the UK, the overall volumes are more than is being catered for.

A pro-Brexit friend of mine praised the Irish customs when he languished in Irish passport queues before the Referendum and wished his UK homeland had or would do the same.

The ‘howaya [name] and welcome to Ireland] is a bit of a laugh. The lads at the customs can be a bit more expressive and winky to the good-looking passengers though…..oh I get SO tired of that.

“(a) travellers from the UK are being asked to show passports before entering (which is NOT a legal requirement). ” unfortunately to *prove* that you don’t need to show a passport to enter the country you need to show a passport.

Kerry flights are put through overseas travelers’ passport control, which was not the case in the past. That’s a mega due diligence. NOT.
