The Irish Times reports:

A knife-wielding assailant who stabbed a policeman inside the perimeter of Britain’s parliament has reportedly been shot by police.

There was a major security alert at the Palace of Westminster in London after a man apparently carrying a knife charged through the gates into the front yard of the parliamentary compound.

After the incident, two people were seen to be lying within Old Palace Yard, immediately outside Westminster Hall.

Meanwhile, a number of injured people were seen lying injured on Westminster Bridge near parliament. It is understood a car hit a number of people near the bridge.

No. Just don’t like him. That’s all.

Me second choice was Louis Walsh if that’s any help.

As they just said on the radio, all they had was a car and a knife and they still caused carnage.

I worked in a pub where a guy was shot- I was off that night, I was drinking up the road so I went to see the guy who got me the job (regular hours, convenient for after college etc) and he said “you’re alright, when you hear the bang you know you’re still alive”.
Then I got a different job.

    Radicalized idiots!
I heard the injured were French students on the radio. I hope they are okay. The French seem to always get the brunt of recent terrorism.

    My deleted comment stands.

I do not see the purpose of this live feed.

Perhaps it’s time to work on de-escalating the conflicts in the Middle East and beyond in a meaningful way, which would actually be easier, given the history of how religious oppression in Europe has always worked out.

That one was very personal to Thatcher. While she vowed that she wouldn’t negotiate with IRA terrorists, she did.

Tragic. There were fatalities of innocent civilians, RIP. I pit their families tonight. Without sounding flippant, the same type of incident happened outside my office in Kenya last year: lone stabber +shooting by armed police – it was quite open and exposed, the body left uncovered (as a warning to Al Shabaab), and after walking by the body, his blood stains for a few days too.
