Wisdom, music, mindfulness and comedy.
At the RDS, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4 tomorrow from 5pm.
Paul Murphy writes:
You were very kind to run a piece on the Conscious Concert gig last year…and I will be interested to read what the crew in the comments make of this one…
…This year’s lineup will hopefully be our best yet. Jill Purce, a voice coach, therapist and author will be talking about overtone chanting, how to chant and about the many ways in which it can be beneficial in contemplation or meditation.
JP Sears (above), an Ultra Spiritualist!, will be providing some Conscious Comedy on the day with a live web stream from the United States, he offers some welcome comedy and an inspiring message all in one go.
We will also have world renowned performer Manish Shrestha live and on stage. Manish is a composer, arranger and multi-instrumentalist from Kathmandu, Nepal. After studying classical and world music he specialized in the sarod, the main instrument of classical Nepalese music.
We will close the evening’s entertainment with Woven which is musical storytelling with a Celtic theme, it is led instrumentally by Pól Brennan of Clannad fame. Woven is a mix of sacred land chants and prayers from Irish musicians and shamans, through the art of story and music the intention is to realign with our hearts, our land, sovereignty, power, unity and oneness….

Previously: New Age Summit
I was going to be all arsey, but this actually sounds nice.
Gimme a free ticket!
I’m sorry but THAT poster cannot be allowed through without some arsey treatment.
57 snots in? Christ. I’d be mindful of that, wha’?
They should be mindful of their spelling of conscious too.
Yikes! I didn’t catch that. I was too zen to care, obv.
+1 I thought the poster was a joke too, initially.
Jesus, Axle Rose has changed tack..
And name apparently
His vid there is moderately funny, and I stumbled from there onto his vegan video, which is worth a watch because it angers all the self-righteous vegans.
And that can only be a good thing.
does Ireland have shamans? I thought we had druids? must be globalisation.
“Bleedin’ immigrants, coming here with their shamen. If druids were good enough for my grandparents, they’re good enough for me…”
Druids come with nationlistic overtones of heritage, and past conflicts of the soul with the third eye, while shamans are seen as culturally neutral and devoid of confining borders of the mind allowing for porous access to the fifth existential sector of the high minds ability to influence the universe as far out as currently measurable, estimated to be at least the distance we are now from, say, LV426. The thetans are coming.
Nana makes tea

Eeeezagood, eeeezagood, Ebenezer Good!
Govinda, jaya jaya!
Are Kula Shaker still around?
57 blips! only for rich hippies, so.
That Sears vid is spot on :)
Mindfulness can be great, but there’s an awful lot of cock and bull in the exaggeration of its effects and benefits.
* bangs wee gong *
I could spend 57 euros in a lounge bar and get unconscious.
And naked. Don’t forget the nudity.
That’s where I used to go wrong… waking up, rolling over, opening my eyes and thinkin’…. “who the fupp is that?”
…and then screaming in ones head
” OMG! …and… I’m naked! “
Yeah mirrors can be confusing when you’re heavily hungover.
Isn’t it great that I dont drink then.
Thanks for sharing your experience :)
Strange that you’d join in a quick chat about getting rubbered then. Although that said, if you were pretending that you got drunk, it would make sense that you pretended to wake up next to someone who wasn’t homeless and on a footpath.
I have memories of drinking back in the day, and of not remembering shtuff :)
Your second bit of that is fine, I chuckled. Thanks.
Oh Jaysus.
Oh JP Sears.
