Stand Up For Choice.

What do you mean you weren’t invited?

The London Irish Abortion Rights Campaign writes:

Comedians Graham Linehan, Sara Pascoe and Aisling Bea played to a sold out audience of at the London-Irish Centre in Camden last night

The ‘Stand Up for Choice’ gig was organised by the London-Irish Abortion Rights Campaign – a grassroots organisation, calling for the legalisation of abortion in Northern Ireland and the Republic.

All profits were donated to Abortion Rights Campaign and the Abortion Support Network, which offers financial support to women who have to travel to Britain for an abortion.

Graham spoke to the audience about his wife Helen’s abortion in London after their baby was diagnosed with a fatal foetal abnormality – and compared it to the treatment they would have received in Ireland.

“Me and wife had a horrible experience. But we were in England. The End,” he said.

The event was hosted by Tiff Stevenson, who recently wrote about her own experience of abortion. Jarlath Regan, Grainne Maguire, Eleanor Tiernan, Stuart Black and Wendy Wason also took to the stage.

In fairness.

Fair play to them, in fairness.
Hopefully Ireland can soon come to a decision on how to properly deal with abortion and medical care.
What I mean is, expecting people to take the boat or get dodgy pills online is not a responsible way to treat citizens.

…an aside, worth a giggle…. MY WILLY, MY CHOICE !

This is where feminism has brought us…. calling for fines for self pleasurin’ !

” Female politician proposes law to fine men $100 for masturbating as ‘act against an unborn child’ ”
    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/jessica-farrar-mans-right-to-know-masturbation-fine-texas-abortion-law-emission-a7626441.html

    And…

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/13/female-politician-proposes-100-fine-men-masturbate-bid-challenge/

The money shot comes in a section of her bill dedicated to “hospital masturbatory assistance registry” which details facilities to provide “fully-abstinent encouragement counselling”.

It goes on to say that “masturbatory emissions” will be collected at health facilities for the purposes of conception only.

“Emissions outside of a woman’s vagina, or created outside of a health or medical facility, will be charged a $100 civil penalty for each emission, and will be considered an act against an unborn child, and failing to preserve the sanctity of life,” it says.

    My willy, my choice !
……you silly, stoooopid hypocritical feminist nut jobber, Ms Farrar. And we thought our politicians were thick, eh :)

Hey you, stop laughing down the back!

This feminist expects to be taken seriously….. No, really.

All the lols, all day :)

    1. Drebbin

Clampers, she did this to satirise the cruel restrictions on abortion. To quote one of the articles you cite: “The bill is a satirical attack on the way male politicians interfere in women’s bodies and seeks to apply the same health restrictions, attitudes and bigotry to men.”

Please read over your response to this and think about it from some kind of neutral standpoint. If I was your friend I would be worried about you.

          1. LW

Or used some variation on the theme of “I made a mistake”, “I didn’t read this properly before reacting”, “Whoops, my bad”, or “Sorry, just my weekly quota of bovine excrement”

      1. Sheik Yahbouti

I really worry about him. He seizes so desperately on ANY chance to rubbish “de evil fiminists” that I actually fear some outrage to come. Fanatics have no sense of humour.

          1. Clampers Outside

She’s a feminist. Claims to be for equality, but is a feminist. All feminists are hypocrites on some level, accept equity feminists who are seek equality along egalitarian lines. The quora link is a good one for lots of reasons why.

Clampers you are an unrepentant clown. No day can pass without you shoehorning some complaint about feminism in somewhere on here. I’ll tell you who the real hypocrite is here, it’s Jonathan Swift! He claimed to support the Irish people, but then advocated eating their poor children! LOLOLOLOLOLOL

          3. LW

Clampers given that you don’t understand satire, I suspect the concept of hypocrisy is far beyond your ken

          4. Clampers Outside

” Clampers given that you don’t understand satire, I suspect the concept of hypocrisy is far beyond your ken ”

I missed the satirical reference, and corrected myself on the first comment. That didn’t stop all you going on an a ‘rage’ on here accusing me of going on a ‘rage’….

You gotta admit, that’s damn funny :) And hypocritical… just look at the comments. Who really is on a rage pet? :)

          5. LW

Haha you didn’t correct yourself. I’m definitely not in a rage, I think it’s beautiful to behold your knee jerk reaction to this, calling her a hypocrite. Do you comment under Waterford Whispers stories too?

          6. LW

Is that what qualifies as admitting a mistake? “Of course it is, it’s still damn funny” That’s you trying to make out you didn’t misunderstand the point she was making. There’s a further beautiful exchange on here, where you demand proof of your own hypocrisy, but are content to call this Jessica Farrar a hypocrite without any proof. This is not unlike the time you were lamenting Sweden bringing in Sharia Law. You’re a gas ticket Clampers, but those feminists are pure hypocrites

          7. Clampers Outside

” you demand proof of your own hypocrisy ” – yes.
” but are content to call this Jessica Farrar a hypocrite without any proof ” – see the quora link, it applies to all feminists.

” This is not unlike the time you were lamenting Sweden bringing in Sharia Law. ” – they are still not far off Sharia practices, when they let off immigrant rapists with community service…. and the like…
            http://www.dailywire.com/news/14812/muslim-sweden-gets-40-hours-community-service-joseph-curl
            http://dailycaller.com/2015/07/03/immigrant-to-sweden-rapes-12-year-old-girl-gets-community-service/

” You’re a gas ticket Clampers, but those feminists are pure hypocrites ” …No disagreement with that.

          8. LW

What if she’s one of the equity feminists you say are fine? You have all the credibility of a drunk at a bar Clampers. I’m particularly fond of how you claim to have admitted your mistake, without ever doing so. Vintage Clampers. lolololol

          9. Yep

Mani’s ghost is right Clampers. I agree with a lot of what you state and a lot of the counterarguments are laughable but…you seem to have left objectivity at the door and seem to relish flying this particular flag.

          10. Nigel

Good luck getting through to anything remotely resembling actual reporting of actual sources of actual facts with either of those links. ‘Last night in Sweden’ indeed.

          11. ReproBertie

Sweden is in a terrible state. Remember the photos of that recent riot which were actually pictures from a completely different riot? Then there was the Swedish girl who was assaulted for having blue eyes and then she turned out to be a boy who had actually been mauled by a dog! And who could forget the youths that a Russian TV crew tried to bribe to riot. Thank goodness we have reliable people like Katie “people are cowed and afraid” Hopkins to get the real story out even though she somehow missed that the riots were 4 years ago and were inspired by a combination of heavy handed policing resulting in the shooting dead of a Portuguese man and the unemployment rate among young first and second generation immigrants

            #PrayForSweden

          12. Nigel

The correct response to ‘there are no verifiable facts at the end of your links’ is never ‘you stick to CNN’ or anything like that. Either stand by the facts you presented and show a credible, verified source, or apologise for spreading disinformation and propaganda, which, by the way, is what you should have done when your first comment here was shown to be completely wrong.

          13. Ratatattat

Just because you have an opinion Clampers doesn’t in any way mean it’s valid

But equally these thought police trying to “correct” you are even more insufferable

        1. ivan

See I think that in deepest darkest Texas, where the moral outlook is sort of slightly to the Hard Right of the DUP, the *only* way to fight is to go loopers the other way. As others have said, the legislation is being brought purely to highlight the positions the Texas legislature takes.

I know the point you’re making and if this was, say, being advanced by a right-on students’ union, perhaps there would be a justification for just the teensiest amount of eye rolling.

this isn’t that, and you’re being a tiny bit disingenuous presenting it as ‘where feminism has brought us’ if you’re implying that this is indicative (seriously) of worldwide feminist thought.

tl;dr If you just thought this was funny and worth a giggle, you should’ve posted without (much) comment.

If you thought this seriously backed up how you think modern mainstream feminism works, or where it’s going…maybe not.

I trust you won’t mind me sharing a photo of the last time you gave a sample in a hospital?

          https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/600×315/e4/e1/b5/e4e1b5ced91e6084efecc86cf3cd3985.jpg

          1. Clampers Outside

            Fair enough.

But, ” If you thought this seriously backed up how you think modern mainstream feminism works… ” you should see what passes for “academia” among feminist Professors. Trust me, fines for touching your winkie is not far off the madness of modern feminist claptrap :)

          1. Clampers Outside

Did you read above where I correct6ed that mistake? It’s still damn funny, no?

And hey, it’s not the whackiest thing to come out of a feminists mouth, in all fairness. Satire or not :)

          2. MoyestWithExcitement

Your reaction when you thought she meant it was hilarious alright. You gave her exactly what she wanted; proof that misogynists like you are total hypocrites. When a woman wants to decide what a man gets to do, you practically start crying with impotent rage.

          3. Clampers Outside

” proof that misogynists like you are total hypocrites ”

This I gotta see, please provide this proof.

Also, where have I been a misogynist? Feminism is not woman kind. Feminism is feminism and ragging on a societal theory, no matter how much they claim to represent a group, is not sexist ya silly billy.

          4. MoyestWithExcitement

            “I was clearly laughing pet.”

Yeah ok, petal. “you silly, stoooopid hypocritical feminist nut jobber” Those are clearly the words of someone calm and emotionally stable.

          5. Clampers Outside

” Those are clearly the words of someone calm and emotionally stable. ”

            So I’m unstable now?

Glad I came on here and got that from some avatar on the internet whose outbursts have been more unhinged than most.

          6. MoyestWithExcitement

Well, you decided it was a good idea yesterday to tell a bunch of avatars on the internet about your depressing travails through the straits of online dating in your 40s so when in Rome and all that.

          7. MoyestWithExcitement

Obsessively trying to prove your sanity to a stranger on the internet is a clear sign of emotional stability.

          8. Clampers Outside

No Moyest, repeatedly asking for proof of your obsession would be an honest assessment of that thread of thought, that you began. I’ve only asked you to prove your accusations. Nothing more. Nothing obsessive. And yet, nothing provided to back up your accusation… as usual.

        2. realPolithicks

Clampers, here’s a quote from Abraham Lincoln that you should consider any time you think about making a post on feminism:

“Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

    2. MoyestWithExcitement

Ummm….she did this to make a point about men having control over women’s bodies. And your hysterical whining perfectly proved her point. I’m actually embarrassed for you.

      1. Mani

        Clampers/John,

Consider this a voice from the grave. Get help. Move on from here. This isn’t healthy.

          1. Mani

Count the number of comments you’ve posted here alone. Tally the number of years you’ve been commenting here. If you think that’s healthy….god/allah/Buddha/Tony Fenton help you.

    3. sǝɯǝɯʇɐpɐq

      Read it again Clampers.
      I don’t think she’s actually a nut job.
She’s just suggesting that men’s health be regulated with the same logic as women’s health is in Texas.

        1. Fgshill

Ah Clamps you’re after making an awful boo boo out of yourself here today. Are there two different people working the Clampers comment persona or what?

          1. Clampers Outside

            Just the one.

What I find funniest out of this, is the continued flack even after having admitted to my mistake.
And yet…. I’m the one being said to be unstable. I do love it…. their appetite to “get” meant they bypassed my correction…. too blinded by the desire to go for it, I guess. The consequences have been funny.

          2. MoyestWithExcitement

Yeah, Clamps. It’s everyone ELSE who has the problem here. :D Mate, you’re like one of them head-the-balls from the audition stage in X Factor.

        2. realPolithicks

If this was a one off thing it wouldn’t matter, but your nonsensical take on feminism has become an almost daily bore.

  2. Doug

Pro life door to door people called to my house last night. When they told me who they were I told them I did not agree with them and that our household was well informed on the topic. They insisted I take their pamphlets despite what I told them. I repeated myself, ‘no’. He then tried to place it in my hand. At that I said goodbye and slammed door. 10 minutes later I was eating my dinner and heard the letterbox rattle. The cheeky g*ts had shoved their pamphlets through my door and scampered! I ran after them and….had words.

      1. Doug

When I caught up with them they were with their posse of fellow door to door pro lifers. I was surprised by the number of young people, particularly young women. One of the young ones saw I was unhappy and piped up, “does he even know what the leaflet is about?”.

    1. Spaghetti Hoop

That’s an evening ruined and they have no problem doing that to people. The Airticity ‘switch’ team were like that at my door and one of them even wedged her foot against my door to stop me from closing it. Political canvassers are no different. I detest bullies. Skulking around people’s doorways.

      1. Doug

I feel the same. Emails, texts, phone calls and junk mail are one thing but pushy door to door types are a different ball game.

  3. Niamh

Hold on, Clampers ranted about internet dating in middle age yesterday?

Clampers is a single fortysomething who can’t pull? Who’d of thunk it?

Additionally, notice all the smiley faces and eccentric exclamation marks he’s started using, to seem breezy and devil-may-care in the face of criticism? Sounds like a passive-aggressive convent girl tearing into her friends’ debs photos.

    1. Birneybau2

He’s always used them but it was in a more innocent ‘Dougal’, not getting any of the jokes, kinda way…

      1. mildred st. meadowlark

I miss old bad-joke Clampers. It feels like one day I woke up and then we had new, shiny, wimmin-hatin’ Clampers.

        1. Clampers Outside

          I don’t hate wimmin’ Milly.

I hate feminist hate, lies, misinformation and the resulting heuristic and lazy thinking from 50 to 60 years of their propaganda.

          Big difference.

          1. Nigel

You literally just got taken in by the idea that this legislation was serious. I don’t think you’re in a position to lecture – or LOL at if you prefer – anyone over misinformation and lazy thinking.

          2. MoyestWithExcitement

Yeah, he totally doesn’t hate women, just the ones that say society has given men advantages over women. They’re liars and organised misinformation distributors. He loves women.

          3. mildred st. meadowlark

Really? Because this thread is about a repeal event in London. Supporting Irish women who are restricted by the conservative and fearful legislation of our government and constitution.

The same sort of restrictive legislation they’re introducing in some States in the US, btw. Sometimes those feminists you so dislike actually do have a valid point to make, even if you don’t appreciate the joke.

You say you’re for choice, but are you really? Because an awful lot of the rhetoric you produce seems to suggest otherwise. And I’m not referring to a dislike of the spoiled, self-entitled sort of feminism. Your doggedness suggests something more than that.

Your hijacking of this thread with this story, a US story, over a concern that is actually relevant to Irish people, to irish women, for example, actually.

What relevance had that story to this, barring the fact that you wanted to crow over the ‘evil’ feminists in the States?

        2. realPolithicks

I could be wrong but it seems to me he started this nonsense right around the time Trump was elected. I don’t know if there’s a connection but it makes you wonder.

          1. Clampers Outside

Nah… came along prior to Trump, by years, long before he was even in the running.

It may have escalated somewhat in the run up though, especially when the feminists started supporting Hillary without question… The vote for the vag or you are a sexist was damned hilarious.
And it was an even funnier hypocritical joke when feminists supporting Hilary unquestionably when one considers the abuse she doled out on her husbands’ accusers. All the LOLs at feminist hypocrisy there. Big time :)

          2. realPolithicks

“The vote for the vag or you are a sexist was damned hilarious.
And it was an even funnier hypocritical joke when feminists supporting Hilary unquestionably when one considers the abuse she doled out on her husbands’ accusers. All the LOLs at feminist hypocrisy there. Big time :)”

You just can’t help yourself can you.

          3. Sheik Yahbouti

Actually that was rather upsetting and revealed the true situation. He has been advised to get help, but won’t, his choice, and it’s his to make. I won’t be commenting any further, though, it’s just not right.

          4. realPolithicks

I think you’re off the mark with that comment Sheik. Clampers has his opinions and he’s entitled to them, I certainly don’t think he needs “help” and I’m not sure where thats coming from. From my standpoint I just find Clampers comments on feminism bizarre and all the more so because previously I found his input enjoyable and entertaining (for the most part) and he seemed pretty even keel. For me this makes his more recent stuff a little hard to fathom. Having said all that it would be pretty boring here on BS if we agreed about everything all the time, so keep it up Clampers just try a little less of the “feminazi” stuff please.

    2. Hog

Now hold on … I’m a single 40-something male finding it hard to pull, no need to be nasty about it, single 40-something-year-old men are humans too. And I agree, Clampers is OBSESSED with ‘d’mad feminists’ in a way that seems unhinged.

      1. Niamh

Sorry about that. I’m a single twentysomething and I Tinder-prefer men in their forties ’cause I actually like them a lot. Cheap shot on my part.

          1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

I think the poo and giggles thing made her think you’re some kind of pervert.

    1. mildred st. meadowlark

And now Mani is out of retirement for the afternoon.

      I’ve put on the popcorn.

  4. Drebbin

Clampers, do you think you could go for a while here without mentioning feminism? Could you manage a week?

There can hardly be a single commenter who doesn’t know exactly how you feel about it. Why not change the subject for a while?

      1. Drebbin

I know I’m just some guy on the internet, but I really wish you would do it. Even if you enjoy it as much as you say, wouldn’t it recharge your batteries to enjoy something else for a while?

        1. Clampers Outside

True. Let’s just say I have something in the pipeline and I’m getting the best from the mileage I can, regardless of my repetition.

I’ll give next week a go tho, why not :)

“neo liberal militia? CNN Swamp dwellers”?? JAYSUS, run folks it’s become contagious ;-)

  7. Eamonn Clancy

Clampers make much more sense when you imagine he’s the Comic Book guy, but in his jocks. In his ma’s gaff. After collecting his labour.

With the exception of a few individuals, it’s notable that the BS wolf pack mentality is still feeding off itself at the expense of individuals who dare offer their opinions; it seems, some opinions are more valid than others.
