On reflection, that probably seems snarky on a thread about women’s football, wasn’t my intention, just surprised there hasn’t been any mention of one of the all time greats.

        Dear Mr-I-don’t-have-a-clue-what’s-going-on,

How many times has Colm Cooper had to slip into someone else’s tracksuit in an airport toilet? Answer me that please.

“How many times has Colm Cooper had to slip into someone else’s tracksuit in an airport toilet? ”
What he did in his private life is up to him, I just think he was a great footballer.

Well I will tell you something for free lad and it is that you have got yourself a serious squirty dose of the confusions if you think what those poor girls have to bare is the fault or blame of Colm Cooper. That lad never did ill to nobody.

          2. bertie blenkinsop

I think you have the wrong end of the stick there pet, go and have a stand on a cold square of lino and come back when you’ve collected your thoughts.

            “You are a mental case.”

Could be worse Graham, I could be a United fan.

How was it ever going to work out when you have a lad called Ashley on your team? What sort of name is that for a lad. Oh heck look at that opposition full back, looks like a tough nutter, what’s his name? Ashley? Haha hahaha hahaha. Not so flipping tough now is he?

          5. Sheik Yahbouti

And in this new spirit of general loveliness and inclusivity you are entitled to that view, Bertie. Others, however, might not give a teeny rats’ pattuti.

        1. bertie blenkinsop

          Well aren’t you the charmer?
I called him one of the all time greats, read it again, trace your finger along the words if it helps your comprehension.

          1. Graham F

I beg your pardon mister. I typed out my message in the dark. I would shake your hand if you were a real person. Apologys.

          2. Graham F

Not far lass. Preston. Here more years and time than not owever. Doing ever so well for self and have it all truth be told. South County gent, Discovery and all the trims. And you a Barnsley girl right?

          3. mildred st. meadowlark

No, sadly not. I just have a real love for the varied shades of the Yorkshire accent. And it’s only beautiful up there.

          4. Graham F

Well grass int always greener. Irelands a terrific place with the loveliest folk you will find. Take me word on that.

          5. Graham F

Truth be told I would not be here oterwise. Not inclined personaly to be handing over my coin to the HMers.

I’m changing my name to Ruud Dokter – best name evert- eh Millie? Endless possibilities :-)

  2. Graham F

Wanted over there to post remark about decent Irish rap to say well done and good stuff. Keep at it lad and don’t be minding the naysayers but website would not take my remark so please change this remark over there. And thanking you all.

  3. Sheik Yahbouti

And there is no irony at all in the fact that a thread ostensibly about the Irish Women’s National Team – who feel that they are disrespected – is hi jacked by people who want to discuss Gaaaaah. Different day, same old s..t.

    1. bertie blenkinsop

If you look at my second post you’ll see I added the caveat,
“On reflection, that probably seems snarky on a thread about women’s football, wasn’t my intention”….

      Hardly hijacking now is it?

    2. mildred st. meadowlark

There was, however, a lively debate about it on the earlier thread, I believe.

Not to take away from their very valid concerns and requests. I should point out (and I think this is going to make me very unpopular) that I hate G.A.A. and think women’s football is a much better use of everyone’s time.

        1. mildred st. meadowlark

I knew there’d have to be one line you couldn’t bring yourself to cross.

          Still friends though, right? ;)

Fair play to the women’s team. FAI management is farcical.

It makes me so mad to hear about this treatment in 2017.

I used to play soccer during the 90’s & early ’00’s… the sexism was bad then but I had hoped the management of the FAI had since evolved from hominids.

And there’s Delaney who sits at an angle on a chair because of the huge stuffed wallet in his back pocket.

“We made numerous attempts to contact the players….” – FAI

    (a) 4 isn’t numerous
    (b) 3 of those were in March AFTER ye were informed that the players were letting the PFAI take over as they were getting nothing but veiled threats about their careers from ye.
    (c) Delaney’s a prick.

    1. mildred st. meadowlark

Ah sure, we all knew about Delaney.

My father knew him some years ago. He was a prick back then too apparently. Now he’s just a git with money.

    2. Annie

Very witty about Delaney sitting at an angle!

Why is he still there? Genuine question, is there some historical cronyism that I’m not up to speed on?
