Newly ‘forensically-enhanced’ VHS footage of cctv showing the moments Trevor Deely was last recorded on camera.

It features a man talking to Trevor outside the rear entrance of Bank of Ireland Asset Management offices on Wilton Terrace, Dublin 2 during a Christmas party at the bank in the early hours of December 8th, 2000.

And later, what may be the same man is seen following Trevor in nearby Haddington Road, Dublin 4 where he was last seen.

Can someone tell me why it has taken almost 17 years for this footage to be released given that the technology for enhancing VHS has been around for a long time?

I would imagine the “New Footage” or ” breakthrough” in the case has been available for a while and after exhausting their own investigation of trying to find who this person is or prove its a person they know, have to resort to opening it to the general public….to breath a new lease of life into the case. I hope they find out what happened . 17 years is an eternity to have no idea as to where he went .

This feels like voyeurism. My heart goes out to Mr. Deeley, I do not have to see his signs of distress to emphasise with him.

Ah come on lads. Even Jeremy.Kyke would baulk at showing emotionally manipulative material like this.

My heart goes out to the family and I hope.they find closure but not at the expense of becoming internet clickbait like this.

Maybe I’m missing something but there’s nothing really emotionally manipulative about this?

THere’s one still of Mr Deeley watching the footage which was presumably included in the press kit with his consent and then CCTV footage which is the point of the whole excercise.
