Boris and Trump handling international relations….what could go wrong!

    But, but, but…
    Sunday Independent…
“Irish Water staff get €5k bonuses as crisis deepens’

No, I’m serious… That’s the headline on the front page. Look at it.

    Yeah.
    …that’s what I thought too.
I have kids. I have to try to explain this stuff to them. They think I’m making it up.

    Any tips?

  3. Bo'CisBereftOfClues yeah.

Ser8ously though… What is a Daddy supposed to do?
The harder you try to explain the ‘News’ to your kids these days the bigger the lunatic you appear to them.
    It isn’t right.

Amy H, who was a failure as an actor in America is a big star in Ireland. How parochial.

Great to see a headline describing those who write the paper on the front of the Sunday World paper

The next time the old ‘well every other country in europe does X” (and I’m guessing it wil be in less than a day, depending on the next repeal push), it might be worth remembering that EVERY other city in europe has dedicated water charges (except belfast who obviously are stuck with our antiquated system).

When copying things from the journal, do remember whether you’re being asked about cities or countries, or are you entirely Dublin-centric?
Remember what your parents said about doing something just because everyone else is doing it.

In Poland, Germany or France, nobody is going to privatise the water. Nobody would dare do it.
In this gombeen-ridden country, which the multinationals call ‘treasure island’, politicians will sell off the family silver to make friends with ‘the big boys’.

If the govt or any of their supporters want to moan about people not trusting them to protect the public water system, they won’t be stuck to find reasons for the lack of trust, so they can go fupp themselves sideways with a toilet brush.

      1. rotide

As of the last 5 years , literally the ONLY people who have talked about privitising water are the anti water protestors.

      2. Ratatattat

That was very rude, patronising and unnecessary.
Is it not possible to argue a point civilly?

It might be instructive to note – in the face of your promotion of ‘fake news’ rotide – that the entire country of Scotland has not seen fit to introduce a separate charge for water. Further, the cities Paris, Berlin and Barcelona re-municipalised their water services, after they’d had a taste of Privatisation. Don’t piddle up our backs and tell us it’s raining, you shill.

You may disagree with him but he is hardly embarrassing himself.

If you have a rebuttal to his argument, why not make it

        1. Sheik Yahbouti

Where? Where does Scotland and the cities I mention appear in these “Consultants’) analysis. As if I actually care. The most informative statistic I can see there is that the UK (whom we ape when it comes to detrimental policies) have allowed ridiculous charges to be levied. Done for ideological (and palm greasing) reasons rather than necessity.

          1. Sheik Yahbouti

Correction. I now see your chart, published by the Journal :-) priced in US dollars, for this naughty family who are using sooo much water! You still don’t get it. I’m actually bored with you now.

          2. Brother Barnabas

in fairness to sheik, his invective is invariably informed, amusing and spot-on.

          3. Sheik Yahbouti

For the last time ever allow me to quote to you some of your contributions from only yesterday:- “ladyparts; morons ; anti -social thugs; windbags ;scum; degenerates, shut yer fuppin dumb gob”. That is a sample of your ‘contributions’. Glad I’m the only one who used ‘invective’ despite the fact that I don’t use such phrases. A bore and a bully shouldn’t throw stones etc…..

          4. rotide

            Let me get this straight.

You stated an incorrect fact. I corrected you, provided multiple sources which you misread and now ‘i don’t get it’ and ‘you’re bored of me’.

Another stellar member of the debating team here.

Feel free to continue to strawman with currencies (here’s a hint, it was a US study)
