I am not a fan of Leo at all but this cartoon, with BS links below it, seems to be suggesting that going after welfare cheats is bad thing. Regardless of the figures and amounts is it not a good thing stopping people scamming money that could be used to help people who really need it.

The government were already dealing with welfare fraud before this advertising campaign. Nobody is arguing welfare fraud is ok.

Your in the wrong post, no mention of leaders here. Just agreeing robbing from people who need it is wrong. Be on your way troll.

I’m assuming you think I’ve more power than I do. Also id like to point out one thing, Corporate would normally relate to private sector. Nurse are public sector, like my self. Just thought I’d let you know.

You have been a tad sensitive over attacks on the bowld leo over the past 2 days, it’s reasonable to assume you’re in his camp instead of coveney’s

the point is not that welfare scamming is ok but that the govt is disproportionately spending time, money and pr resources targeting it. we could recoup a lot more money by going after white-collar fraud/banks/all that unpaid tax money they don’t seem to want from Apple.

“Regardless of the figures and amounts”

If the “figures and amounts” were in anyway accurate I might agree with you, but he claimed that they saved 500 million euro in fraud in 2016 when the actual figure was 41 million of which only 38% was due to fraud. So the actual number saved is about 16 million versus 500 million, thus rendering anything this buffoon has to say on the matter irrelevant.

The Looting Paupers would be a great name for a band, though. or would have been. If time-travelling alternate-history Leo hadn’t MURDERED them when THEY went back in time to research their world-changing 1916-based rock opera PEARSED. Why, Leo? WHYYYYYYYY?

A self publicist and a scoundrel, trying to outdo JobBridge Joan, who is immensely popular!

Did anyone else read “Where would they have been in 1916?” in a Ronnie Drew accent? If you haven’t you should. It’s tremendous fun.

if you read Leo’s caption in the Aul Mr Brennan radio ad voice, with an aul ‘whawhawha’ laugh at the end, it’s better still…

Sometimes signing on and getting a bit of cash in hand is the only way for some people to survive. It’s small change compared to the massive levels of corporate fraud.

true.it’ll all be spent.in these days of universal basic income this campaign (with its hint that all welfare is cheating) is Thatcher stuff.
where’s the patronising radio ads with a voiceover asking a corporate accountant if he understands the difference between tax avoidance and tax evasion?

I mean, Ivan Yates gets about 5 average industrial wages, every year, for life, from the taxpayer for doing no work. Same for dozens and dozens of other ex-somethings or other. When you do wrong you’re either promoted or paid half a million to feck off.

It’s hard to listen to the ruling class that make themselves wealthy for life no matter what happens to the country they’re running lecture the poorest about respecting public finances.
