96fm

From left: Fergal Barry, Jonathan Sugarman and PJ Coogan, presenter of The Opinion Line on Cork’s 96FM this morning.

RTÉ won’t touch him.

But they’re made of sterner stuff in Cork.

Fergal Barry writes:

This morning PJ Coogan conducted the first live radio interview with banking whistleblower Jonathan Sugarman The Opinion Line with PJ Coogan on 96FM

May I particularly call your attention to 37 minutes into the interview where Jonathan speaks of the danger of banks in the IFSC plunging Ireland into a fresh bailout, possibly much larger than the one we are experiencing.

That NewsTalk interview was recorded two months ago but only transmitted yesterday.

This is his first live interview and lasted considerably longer, well over an hour.

      Just to clarify. Thanks

” the danger of banks in the IFSC plunging Ireland into a fresh bailout, possibly much larger than the one we are experiencing.”
Why wouldn’t they? Their raison d’êtreis to make profit. The previous crash has shown them the supine behaviour of Irish Governments towards financial institutions.
They know that they can make profits by taking unacceptable risk positions and if/when they fail, the irish government will beggar the nation to fix things for them and they keep their bonuses

What Irish banks are operating in the IFSC? If they’re foreign, then the government won’t bail them out.

Peter, if they domicile here, like Depfa did, then we are responsible according to Mr Sugarman.
