Wallis Bird at the Riverbank Arts Centre
I am a genuine fan of Wallis Bird and would love to see her because she’s got this third, giant hand that everyone is standing on throughout her gigs and she holds ya nice and cosy and tight in there or she shakes it around like a dance floor with springs. And both are exhilarating.
Not entering as Newbridge is miles away – but Wallis Bird entertained in and around Wexford before going to Germany. She used to play regularly in Butlers of Broadway. Normal pub – could be playing to 10 or 70, but always a brilliant entertainer and no airs and graces about here. Glad she’s made it.
I don’t know her but I feel bad that there aren’t more entries.
As Anne Widdecombe’s gynaecologist once said…
if you really cared, you would have posted lots of comments and entries under different names
maybe you’re just not a good person
She sounds like a right dose. Girl meets girl – what does that even mean?
This thread is PROBABLY NOT an eye-opener for the formally blinkered.
Mysoginist… Yes.
Ill- Informed… Yes
Judgemental… Yes
Stupid… I didn’t say you were.
Broadsheet… but you probably are….
YES.
I’m shocked at the lack of interest in free tickets but she’s never gonna be short of a crowd. If you build it they will come. Stay strong!
in fairness to Wallis Bird, I’d say the lack of interest is more to do with it being in Newbridge. There’s no way of knowing for certain if there even is such a place.
I’ve gone to lots of gigs down in Newbridge. 30 mins from town, €10 on the bus. Pity I’m away that weekend. I’ve seen Wallis play a few times. Amazing voice.
I’m not entering because I was lured to Cork with the promise of kids, cheaper houses and better jobs but Wallis Bird is outstanding live. I have seen her twice and would go to a concert of hers every night if I could.
in my case I’m not entering even though I practically live in newbridge
that’s because her music based on that clip included is utter gick
To My Bones is life affirming. Anyone who sings about Dutch Gold is cool with me.
*cough cough*
