    Not sure but it should be destroyed, immediately, before it lays any (more) eggs or whatever form of procreation it partakes in. I’d go with some acid.

      Ah, that would explain why it hasn’t moved for three days, there were two but the other one fell off when I accidentally tap the inside of the window pointing at it.
      Mayflies are pretty harmless, aren’t they…?

    Mayfly.
    I did see something similar over the weekend but it was attached to a spider’s web. The spider had munched both wings off.

    maybe some variety of wood wasp (which are not actually wasps – the “stinger” is for laying eggs).

    The long appendage at the end is to lay eggs, either in your hair, ears or down your throat.
    Gestation is usually about 24 to 36 hours before the grubs start nibbling.
    The host doesn’t really notice anything until the blood in the stool becomes apparent.
    after that madness takes hold…..
