…the best thing is that you can hate both the ‘poor and needy’ AND the ‘women’… and they can be the same group of people!

Unfortunately most don’t want abortion in this country so I don’t know who these ladies are representing. A minority trying to impose it’s will on the majority? Same old same old. Also, where’s the men in these protests? Don’t they have an opinion about what constitutes human life? Or have men no opinion of value cos they can’t have babies? Is that why there’s no men at these things? This is looking to me like abortion is becoming another militant, social justice feminazi cause. Men are banned from discussion and if you disagree you are ..lets see……sexist, racist, fascist etc. Words that are loosing their meaning through sheer misuse and abuse. You put these screaming harpies at the front of you protest and you have already lost. Saw all this already with the gay marriage thing.

    1. Lord Snowflakee

Did you now? Tell me how that went? Didn’t they pass the “gay marriage thing”?

      “feminazi”

You think you are being thoughtful contrarian.
Everybody else thinks you are using words that Glenn Beck made up.

Also, there is a difference between being banned from discussion and not wanting to have your feelings hurt.
If you say sexist things, you are gonna get called a sexist.
If you don’t like being called a sexist then you can choose not to say sexist things.

But your precious feels are very different from being banned from discussion.

Really? Grand so; the referendum won’t pass so, so you should have nothing to worry about.

“You put these screaming harpies at the front of you protest and you have already lost. Saw all this already with the gay marriage thing.”

      Mmm, didn’t that referendum pass?

      Most don’t want abortion?
@Eoin Have you gone round the country and asked everyone then?

I hate when people say nonsense like this – just because you don’t approve, doesn’t mean that the rest of the country agrees with you.

You’re wrong anyway -based on poll after poll, in recent years, public opinion is in favour of repealing the 8th and introducing a more liberal abortion regime.

Also, yep plenty of men at the Dublin protest on Saturday, it’s an issue that affects everyone and that’s reflected in the protesters.

        Not true Grace,

The polls indicate a majority in favour of abortion ONLY when a pregnancy is a direct threat to the life of a mother; something that is already provided for in legislation.

NO POLL indicates a majority in favour of abortion on demand, nor indeed does any poll indicate a majority in favour of the repeal of the 8th amendment.

        1. LW

Well he said most people don’t want abortion, which is patently untrue. As you say, most people are in favour of a liberalisation of the abortion laws

          1. Zuppy International

In spite of the disingenuous headline, and the loaded methodology, that poll does not support what you claim it does, Buried at the end is the following:

“However, it is not clear that there is sufficient public support for the introduction of a UK-style regime in Ireland, where – subject to term limits – there is general access to abortion.”

            .

          2. LW

Wrong Zupster, my dear fellow. You said there’s no poll showing support for repealing the 8th. This poll has support for that across geographic and demographic ranges. If you want to, you could say a majority don’t support unrestricted access to abortion, that’s much less certain. But in the oft mentioned cases of FFA etc, the majority are in favour of legalisation

    6. LW

I like how you rail against being called sexist, fascist etc but feel free to flail away with Feminazi.

The fupping tone police again!! Women and girls have no value in this country. Look at how we treat them? We deny them healthcare so they die in agony, we lock them up, to force them into giving birth when they’ve been raped…

Not being “screaming harpies” gets suicidal raped girls locked up. Do you agree with punishing raped girls? Why are you pro rapist?

      1. Zuppy International

” We deny them healthcare so they die in agony, we lock them up, to force them into giving birth when they’ve been raped…”

WFT Daisy, you’re now pushing outright lies.

          1. mildred st. meadowlark

Hah, could say the same of the errant poo poo you’re so fond of trotting out.

There were lots of men there, Eoin. I know this because I was actually there. You seem to be basing your entire post about this protest on the 2 photographs above. Also – your use of the words “feminazi” and “screaming harpies” indicate that : A.you don’t really like women very much, or B: you are a troll. Abortion is not a “militant. social justice, feminzi cause” – it’s healthcare, which is being denied to the women of this country. You are, of course, entitled to your opinion and you are not banned from any discussion – just as I am not banned from disagreeing with you or calling you out on your misogyny. Anyway – enjoy the sunshine and your bodily autonomy. PS it’s LOSING not LOOSING.

    1. Zuppy International

What about the baby’s bodily autonomy. Abortion Huggers always ignore this.

      1. Daisy Chainsaw

What baby? Stats for the vast majority of abortions show that there’s no body at the time the abortion takes place, never mind “autonomy”!

        Antis are so weird.

          1. Daisy Chainsaw

            Pregnancy = pregnancy.

            Birth = baby.

Zuppy = No access to human biology lessons ever!

      2. j9

Abortion Hugger? Seriously?? What an odd turn of phrase you anti-choice folk employ at times. I don’t know how you would actually go about hugging an abortion but sure whatever you are into yourself. I am pro-choice.

        1. Topsy

You mean you are pro killing humans in the womb. Fair enough, but spare the ‘pro choice” poo.
