There you go now.
Good times.

nothing like the sight of a back being scratched, eh?
What makes her unqualified for the role?
You’re missing the point
Explain it to me then.
There are 9 court of appeal judges at the moment, 7 of whom are men. This appointment is good for gender equality. Maybe the 3 highlighted by FF were men and government decided that all things being equal another woman on the bench is a good idea.
She didn’t apply for the job
but 3 currently sitting HC Judges did
then there’s the sitting in the room while gig was being discussed
Even the most devout contrarian can hardly defend this. It’s a job she didn’t apply for, the appointment process was circumvented. Increased gender equality is a small fig leaf for this stroke
Nah this is just a case of hating anything that establishment parties do.
Wonder who the 3 who expressed interest are. Sure broadsheet loves posting about judges of the day etc and how woeful the judiciary are. Hopefully none of them expressed interest!!
well I know exactly who one of them are
and he’s not letting it lie
and I wouldn’t blame him
btw Steve
The other three applied for the vacant post
thats a fact
Maire Whelan didn’t bother her arse
and she didn’t recuse herself from the room when the gig was being discussed
Thats a Sham
I have no confidence in any Judicial, State Board, Public appointments system now
None
and I’m entitled to have confidence in all State employees
My heart bleeds for ye
Because in fact – there is no training involved or required be a judge in Ireland. Just bring a political stooge is the requirement.
The little taoiseach already showing his colours.
I’m going to take you literally on this. Varadkar is 6’3.
What height are you buddy?
You have some of Leo’s pubes stuck between your teeth.
You’re missing the point, again. (Jebus, it’s not rocket science).
Little is fair
because he didn’t have the Blueshurt in numbers behind his election for Leader he had to give them sum’ting and that was give the AG gig to one of the party boys
Marie Whelan was going to be staying on as AG if Coveney got the gig
but as it happens, she still got Enda and Frances to sort her out before Leo was canonised
lol Maire Whelan is Labour Party ye big dope
…labour/blueshirt…same thing in that government…
+ 1
Blinding insights as usual from BS in house tit job analyst and amateur columnist/psephologist
flirt
Sur I know she’s labour
why am I a dope
She knew she was staying on as AG if Coveney got through
when he didn’t
she sorted out another gig
no wonder her Labour party colleague was very quick to sign her in
Got any new makeup tips?
lol no you didn’t ,why did you go on about blueshirts jobs for the boys.
Just admit – you got it wrong
Because he has given the job of attorney general to someone else. At the very least, read what she wrote. Lol.
Steve
I was referring to the new AG
Leo had to give it to one of the party boys ’cause
ya know
he only got 35% of the Party membership voting for him
If Coveneys 65% was enough there’d be no need
in fact Maire Whelan knew she was being retained as AG if Coveney got there
And Lord XXXX
I’m in the humour for you today,
especially after me trip to your neck of the woods yesterday
and in as many weeks too…………..
Apologies , my mistake , sorry for misinterpreting ye on AG
…was that the same pen he used to sign the water legislation…hope this works out as well for him…
That’s right, bale the president for the blushirt corruption
…you mean the last labour factotem still in office…
bisted I don’t think you understand the role and powers of the president
…the water legislation was probably the most divisive scheme ever imposed…it was resisted and ultimately defeated…to sign this legislation is the role of the president…to sign it without comment and with undue haste shows how powerless and impotent this once outspoken politician who claims left-wing credentials has become…
Do you understand the role and powers of the president, bisted?
…whatever about his role he certainly has no power…I wonder would Mary Robinson have been so acquiescent…
Yes, Mary Robinson would (most likely) have done the same thing.
The only different thing that she could do it to challenge it on Constitution grounds. If there are none she would have signed it.
And had he refused to sign it it have had to be referred for a test of its Constitutionality. Had the bill survived the test it would be rendered immune from challenge for ever more.
…turns out to be irrelevant…water charges have been defeated…and Squees legacy will be as an irrelevance…the dog that didn’t bark…
F off FF
I’m really liking Leo already
It’s great that he’s putting it up to the can’t pay won’t pay lot and calling them on their BS
Don’t like him, or agree with the rest of your comment, but he’s absolutely lording it over FF, calling their bluff
…agree…the FFers seemed to be playing a blinder up to recently but seemed to have rolled over when their bluff was called by Coveney and then Varadkar…
What I mean is that at least you know what he stands for even if I don’t necessarily agree with it- he’s not talking out of both sides of his mouth at once as FF wanksters do
Hopefully she will be a better judge than she was an AG. The Fennelly report had a relatively damning indictment of her but obviously Enda felt he owed her one! http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/enda-kenny-urged-to-sack-attorney-general-maire-whelan-447327.html It is exciting times for great governance standards in Ireland!
“Puzzling”
is the new
liar liar pants on fire
Nice autocracy.
