A Limerick A Day

Ed Sheeran closes the Glastonbury Festival last night

Some Glastonbury-goers have said
That the headliner filled them with dread
They’re far too highbrow
For pop music now
So Sheeran left them seeing red.

He’s literally the biggest, doesn’t mean best, male artist in the world right now, has a string of hits and no.1s and played the pyramid stage so im sure he’ll be worried about the reviews from people who just don’t like his “type” of music.

Watched it. At the risk of sounding like a music knob, I haven’t liked anything after their first two albums which were fantastic. But that looked like an incredible gig, that’s how you entertain a crowd

Love the first, the second was ok, but I love loads of songs off every album. Im not really an album person. Like love Led Zep, listen to any album they have absolutely classic songs, also some completely rubbish, not just bad, rubbish songs on them. Spotify the poopy poo out of your fav band and make the ultimate album.

The Foos and Ed Sheeran are both as bland and generic sounding as each other – respective to their genres. Cookie cutter rock and guitar pop – after four or five songs they all begin to sound the same. To my ears anyway. Now, that;’s not to say they’re not engaging, entertaining, hold a highly gregarious stage presence and know what to give their audiences. Both did that with aplomb.

On the other hand, I’m very fond of Radiohead but Thom Yorke – and the rest of the band – have as much stage presence and charisma as sliced white pan. Their set could not have been better, they really did deliver – especially in encore. It was better than their show in Dublin earlier in the week it has to be said.

But with all that said, I reckon the headline of the weekend goes to the Foos. It is exactly what a weekend festival needs.

Best set of the weekend tho? Chic.

Im not sure if your comment started as you trolling, in jest, and then you actually decided to make a point but, You’ve obviously never heard white limo if you think the foos are generic and/or the same as ed.

For my online masters in Anthropology. My thesis is on the mating habits of town criers.
          Why were you watching me?

I enjoy breathing down the back of your neck while you indulge in some peeping tomery.

            It’s deliciously creepy.

Well, BS does seem to play host to the type of person that would have a camera in in the “guest” bathroom.

I thought he was great. Really good one-man-show.
