Just wondering if ye would give our new Beer & Ice Cream Weekend a wee mention, we at the Franciscan Well [14B North Mall, Cork]  having a lot of fun messing with our beers at the minute, we’re making some nice cocktails and the like and now we’ve made some great ice creams from a few beers, made some syrups from others and combined the lot into a weekend of…. well, nom.

Noel, I was on an Aer Lingus flight a few days ago and noticed your establishment’s advertisement in the airline’s ‘Cara’ magazine.

You might want to have a word with those who proof-read your advertisements. An apostrophe or two astray in the ad.

Only highlighting this as I’ve spent many a summer’s evening in your beer garden back in the early noughties and sat inside your establishment in the mid 90’s and have only good to say about your fine beers.

I think I might buy myself some Blarney Blonde later.

Do they do an ice-cream float sort of affair? Cidery vanillery type of thing maybe.

Frilly, I’m headed to Cork today, can you recommend any decent pubs.

I love the Franciscan Well, I can’t remember a time in the last few years not popping in while down in cork for a swifty at least. Always a great place to bring a group of friends, particularly in the summer and it deserves it’s accolafe of being a pioneer in the “cop on you mindless zombies” there’s way more to be enjoyed with beer than the homogonized pi$$ that people seem to be acclimatised to accepting as the real stuff.

My only worry, and forgive me for being blunt or unintentionally offensive(or stupid) is that it’s not just good enough to have the best alternative to the infinate number of diagio homogonised pee in all the mainstream establishment pubs around ireland and then offer a mighty fine bridge for the mainstream into the future.

Please add more beers and embrace experimentation or offer tried and trusted alternatives from other partners. I love what you do but I fear your going to slowly decline…. but I’ve been wrong before and I hope this is another one of those times….

BTW: The stone bake pizza place in the beer garden out the back is worth a visit in itself too…

    :-J
