On Saturday Night with Miriam….

Sinead Harrington writes:

This week on the show Miriam meets model and entrepreneur Caprice who will fill viewers in on her recovery from her recent brain tumour and the effect it has had on her and her family.

Brendan Courtney will be on the couch to discuss the Fair Deal scheme and how he’s coping with his Dad’s death, one month on.

Also on the show are three people who’ve bravely battled cancer who will share how their fight inspired them to take on some awesome personal challenges.

Music comes from The Blizzards performing their brand new single ‘Show me the Science’.

Plus performers from the Laya Healthcare City Spectacular will entertain the audience and viewers.

    Janey Mac, hah?
I must say, though, that I like Brendan Courtney.
Will I watch it? Sigh. I hope not.

I don’t want to comment too much on Courtney, his dad was a lovely man, but iv had first hand experience with his issue. The fair deal scheme is for nursing home beds, not paying families to stay at home looking after relatives.

Oh, ok. I wasn’t commenting on that issue at all and didn’t watch that show. I’ve met him and he was very nice company.

actually, I felt demeaned and objectified. and only the teeniest bit curious.

There was a time, maybe in the early 2000s and bookshops were full of books like those by Dave Pelzer; some called them ‘MiseryLit’ and one branch of, I think, Ottkars cheekily named the section ‘Boo Fupping Hoo’.

Anyway – this kind of line up? Yeah. That.

why have Courtney on. he had his documentary, it was repeated last week. I’m sure he was on every radio show talking about it.

If it was 1999 I’d say there would have been a handful of people interested in watching a Caprice interview

19.99 is probably what they’re paying her

Caprice. I’ve a memory distant in the annals of time, I can only remember her for appearing on RTE chat shows * Alan Partridge shrug *
