Free SATURDAY?
Dublin Maker is a volunteer-run event that attracted 10,000 peoeple to Merrion Square, Dublin 2 last year.
David McKeown writes:
Dublin Maker is a spectacular family-friendly day of invention, creativity and resourcefulness. A completely free to attend, community-run event will transform Merrion Squareinto a wonderland of inventors from all over Ireland this Saturday, July 22.
Featuring a host of clever hacks, intriguing innovations and maker movement magic – come along to find out how robots are made, instruments are created and beer gets brewed. See woodturners and weavers in action and medical devices being 3D printed. And MORE.

The event is on this Saturday 22nd not Sunday.
Thanks Jeffrey, fixed now. Thank you
Saturday not Sunday I think?
Sorry Eamonn, fixed now. Thank you
While you’re at it: ‘peoeple.’
Will there be face-painting?
I can do face-painting, with special-effects in 3D…
I can do a Zebra who’s crying…
I can do a Cat who’s crying…
I can do a Spiderman who’s crying…
I can do a Transformer who’s leaking oil…
…the list is endless…
I can do a sprinkler, but I get dizzy very quickly so I tend to stick to the face-painting.
Facepainting 101 – Pirates, Dalmatian dog, basic cat, clown, princess. None of your faffing around with intricate flower swirls or spiderwebs! Bitta paint, bitta glitter, done.
You forgot to kick them in the botty when their parents weren’t looking, but apart from that…yeah.
No face painting or any of that
It sounds much better than that awfully commercial Laya Healthcare mess last weekend. The usual food and coffee stalls, a couple of entertainers you couldn’t get near enough to see and loads of crowd stewards high on their power trips and making a rubbish job of it.
We strive to be different from an over commercial event. We keep the product and branding to as low as possible.
