It would surely be logistically easier to treat the British Isles as what it has always been – a single customs area. Checks only at ports.

Speaking for myself, I want the time from 1815-1914 back. A golden age of unity and prosperity under the Empire.

I long for the days when Julius Caesar ruled the british barbarian hordes…happy days.
No chance of the Peruvian Hannon going home?
Brexit seems to have broken Dan Hannan. Before the vote, he was completely denying that it would mean leaving the single market. Now, rather than admit that things may be quite the way he would have liked, he is defending every daft decision or utterance made on the subject.
John McGuirk is just tragic.

Yup. Nothing between 1815 and 1914 that adversely affected Ireland while part of the Empire. Nothing at all.
Who the hell is John McGuirk?
How many souls has McGuirk sucked out since 1815 to still be around now?
John McGuirk was taking the wee wee, right?
