Danny Healy Rae TD claims fairies are responsible for a dip in the N22

If your boreen is prone to distort
You’ll find there’s no need to resort
To an engineer’s facts
It’s caused by the acts
Of the master of some fairy fort.

Sometimes I think he’s just an eejit, then I read that his firm has earned €8.7 million in state contracts.

Then I wipe the smirk off my face and get back to work. :(

Daft as it may sound, a lot of rural people do have these kinds of beliefs.
He is merely reflecting the view point of some of his constituents as is his duty as a parliamentarian.
I wish more would do the same.

So if he also has constituents who are pastafarians he should, in all fairness, promote the church of the flying spaghetti monster.

      1. Lord Snowflakee

It would be hard to argue against that yes.

But wouldn’t the pastafarians be better off putting up their own candidate? He seems like a meat and two veg (one of them boiled spuds) kind of guy.

His constituents would be better served by him trying to actually do something about the problem instead of blaming it of creatures of folklore.

He’s getting it into the news. Maybe now the budget to do the engineering bit right will be allocated.

I would imagine there are €8.7 million reasons why fairies are suddenly messing with the roads

“What was I very worried about – and still am – is that two men, or two women, could adopt a little baby girl or a little baby boy and these babies would have no say in it.”
Sharp as a beachball, that fella.
Though as y’all say, a very rich beachball.

I met him once. He was a very pleasant chap. A gentleman, even. But as we spoke I noticed something I’d never actually seen in anyone before. He was utterly dead behind the eyes. It’s not an act there’s definitely an “otherness” there.

I’m also led to believe that himself and the brother do not get on at all. So no double act there at all. More a Faustian pact.

Danny, you’re just like your brother
I can’t tell you from one another
    While you both remain
    On your gravy train
    The future ahead…I just shudder.
