Absolutely. Sure if a young one looks like that, no need to even do the Leaving Cert.

  1. scottser

um, if you’ve done your leaving cert you’re no longer a school child?
also, if sexualisation of children is your main point, why is it worse in the ancestral home of the gaa? tess has her devalera on today..

  2. Yeah, Ok

Oh FFS Tess, you need to get out more. This is the way nightclubs have advertised for at least as long as I remember and I’m sure much longer than that. And these “school children” are 18.

Bloody hysterics of a Tuesday morning…

Given that Hayes Hotel is just the name on it (according to website, it’s recently owned under new ownership) I don’t think you can draw any sort of line from the founding of the GAA to this poster. The new owners have kept the name for obvious reasons, is all….

    1. Lord Snowflakee

Does the ‘Official GAA’ operate out of there these days Tess?

And “Do yer homework” you say? Isn’t that a reference to schoolchildren? How NAUGHTY, Tess.

      PM me.

on one hand, i kinda get that it’s a bit much to advertise LC results night with a tarty picture.. even tho they will all be dressing like absolute tarts at it. BUT.. it being the place where the GAA was founded seems irrelevant to anything. Like, are you annoyed at the GAA for allowing it? or is it that you think it’s a stain on a place of national interest? .. what about the GAA part gets on your nerves?

      genuinely asking

  4. Friscondo

Some people just love to have a pop at the GAA. Just look at the support given by the GAA community after that tragedy in Canada involving former Breaffey GAA player. Give it a rest.

    1. gepo the great

all of this aside .. eff the GAA .. they have lads train all year round for nothing, and keep all the money themselves. The GAA is a microcosm of ireland. on the take, take from the many to enrich the few. and then plebs like you are appeased because they do the odd charitable act. they’re the irish mafia, they’re creaming it in, and nothign for the players. and also they effectiely closed down my childhood soccer club because it was a foreign sport and some of the GAA kids started playin, I hate the GAA.

      1. Friscondo

I played soccer and GAA football as a kid and am more of a soccer fan. So get off your high horse. That was back in the ’80s BTW.

        1. gepo the great

im not on any high horse. i was a kid in the 80s too, born 1980. when we started up a soccer club the local GAA club changed training nights to purposely collide with GAA training, and GAA is life so they had to do GAA and give up soccer.

all that aside. I still say eff the GAA. whippin lads all year makin em not go out on the beer n all, and then giving them nothing in return.

          1. Friscondo

So you can’t get over something that happened 30 years ago. I happily take my kids to Ireland soccer matches, Mayo GAA matches, and the odd St. Pats game. The GAA and the country have moved on.

          2. gepo the great

forget all that. that was a smaller personal point. im going on about how much money they rake in and demand they put on the players, and dont pay them a bean. and for that reason, eff the GAA.

          3. gepo the great

ps. that’s cruel to bring your kids to Mayo games, to constantly expose them to disappointment year after year

    1. Spaghetti Hoop

I spent my LC results in the Neptune Lounge (Flowing Tide). I lived in the Flowing Tide.

      1. Janet, I ate my avatar

oh we have defo crossed paths
did you hit me once with a sliced pan for looking at yer fella

  5. Tess

Ah here so no one thinks that a poster like that is slightly inappropriate even from a design perspective. Like if thats what expected from girls to dress up as there’s no hope for us. What ever about the GAA comment and no it doesn’t operate out of there but it’s still something the hotel clings too.

    1. Bertie Blenkinsop

So you’re admitting now that your GAA link to this event was tenuous at best?

      Did you “do yer homework”?

    2. Harry Molloy

That girl in the photo gives girls something to aspire to and boffins have already proven that looking sexy makes you more confident and more confident children means more success and better jobs so they’ll be better able to cover our pensions

  6. Tess

No Im not but it wasn’t the point of the original tweet. Which you’re missing so don’t even bother. I guess I can assume you think sexualising school children is OK then.

    1. Yeah, Ok

      “Strictly over 18s”
      “Sexualising school children ”

      Pick one.

And you made the gaa thing the point of your original tweet. Even by BS’s standards this is a poor post.

      1. I hate everyone

        No I like her

Her leaps in logic and then immutable grandstanding thereafter are typical of many who post here

    1. mildred st. meadowlark

You are making yourself a fool trying to defend this.

      Good luck. It’s tremendously entertaining.

PS. my money is on andyourpointiswhatexactly to win.

      1. I hate everyone

One thing that keeps me awake at night

        And your point is OR
        Andy our point is

        Need to know

          1. Andyourpointiswhatexactly?

Good question. I am at a loss as to what brainfart made me choose this stupid name in the first place. It’s And Your blah blah blah.

      1. I hate everyone

The Clampers fella regularly says “slow clap” as well. I’d say the post is more down to his standards. LJG’s extravagant performance art piece is wearing I’ll grant.

  7. eric cartman

Ahh yeah, sure they should have just put an overweight man in a burkah on the poster, that would have got loads of people interested.

  8. Peter Dempsey

Anyone doing their LC nowadays is probably 18 given the 6 year secondary cycle and the fact that most people are 5 when they start school.

    1. Termagant

Strange accusation to come from someone who’s been posting here since 11 this morning.

    2. Yeah, Ok

Hahaha gosh Tess you came across like an awful goober here, and that doesn’t help. Cheerio

  9. Frilly Keane

    Ah FFS
    Stop talking rhymes with kite
    The lotta ye
Hayes hasn’t bin’ s hotel in years
I’m going ta say at least 10
I last kipped there in ’03

It’s just one giant multi-story nite club now
Even the original photographs from the bar are long gone

As far as I remember the receivers offered it to the GAA
    And they said no thanks
    For enough tbh

    The Munster Council have Semple
    An’ that’s all we need

    1. I love everyone

      Stop talking rhymes with kite?
You mean delight? Fight? Right? Bite? Light? Tights?

      Yours,
      Confused, Durlas Eile
