If sterling continues to fall
It could make life hard for us all
If prices increase
The British might cease
To make our food their first port of call

This is true.
But the value you can get on amazon.co.uk these days, but…
Just wondering where they’ll buy fresh produce from instead…. I know they can produce their own but throughout modern history in order to sustain their population they’ve had to import a sizeable amount from ourselves and other nearby countries that don’t use sterling
They will probably still buy it from the EU, but just buy less of it/buy less expensive products.
They could well end up importing more, actually. http://www.independent.ie/business/farming/agri-business/one-in-three-uk-food-firms-unviable-without-european-workers-report-36064183.html
Ego can make lots and lots and lots of people do amazingly stupid things. Brexit was all about placating the ‘Rule Britannia’ attitude. It was to affirm in the minds of idiots that the UK, and by extension the individual idiots themselves, are VIPs. Now their food industry is in serious danger of collapse.
Also, this shows that without labour, businesses cannot survive. ‘Business owners create wealth. We need to give them what they want.’ No they don’t.
Where else are they going to go lol..
let them eat cake
As long as it stops them coming here and buying our houses and pricing our kids out of homes long may it continue. Let’s buy all theirs instead.
Brexit. HA HA HA.
Guy Bague. I like it!
Let’s build an incinerator in Buckinghamshire to burn the property pages of the Irish Times.
Owwight. Calm down, dear.
The Brits may cease to come forth
To buy products from our lovely green swarth
But come Christmas be pleased, an opportunity ceased
We can all flock to ASDA up North
Sainsburys
for me
clotted cream
Well that’s 3,500 jobs in the irish mushroom industry under threat, but hey we can get our clotted cream a bit cheaper, eh?
so what’s with all the Dutch mushrooms being bought in German supermarket chains…
noticed last time I was home
Picking mushrooms not exactly good for the health due to the lack of sunlight, unless you wanna do it at night!
Not that healthy a job anyway given the insecticides used in growing mushrooms http://www.whatsonmyfood.org/food.jsp?food=MU
