Organiser Jahnny Keenan (him off the telly) writes:

There are currently 4500 residents living in 35 Direct Provision Centres in Republic of Ireland. 1500 are children.

We have teamed up with MASI (Movement of Asylum Seekers Ireland) and the good folk at Ballykeeffe Amphitheatre to organise a positive vibration, in order to bring people of all backgrounds of our nation together in one love and one harmony on one Sunday afternoon in September.

The aim is to have a celebration of life through great music and to have the craíc with each other regardless of race, colour or creed.

Fight!

      He sure is.

I was a late addition to the bill so I’m on first.
Get there early and wear your dancing shoes.
The sun will be shining. You won’t need a jacket.

      It’s going to be wonderful.

All concerts are diverse in their audience profile. Why would you promote an event with “regardless of race, colour or creed”?? It’s not an apartheid state.

I’d guess to make the point very clearly that everyone is welcome, no matter what. It should be taken as a given in any civilised society, of course – but people in direct provision understandably don’t always feel welcome.

        That’s exactly the Vibe Brother.
Can I just say at this point that this event is 100% positive. I won’t answer any negative comments.
Looking forward to meeting Memes and in particular seeing and hearing

This would almost be worth the admission fee to see memes fall over the decks and electrocute himself on stage.

    Almost.

      Thanks very much rotide.
You just can’t keep your mouth shut, can you?

Now I’m going to have to think up a new surprise thing to do.
