    I tried to twist a melon once. Literally. It’s not easy. The size of the fruit makes it hard to hold, and rigidity renders it liable to shatter. I suspect it lacks the flexibility to deform under torque, even if the requisite force could be applied. I had more luck with kiwi fruits, and one spectacular experience with an over-ripe banana.
