I thought you might be interested in featuring this tweet (above) on your website. It has been entered as part of a competition EirGrid is running in association with the GAA where clubs can be in with a chance of winning a brand new digital clock and scoreboard by submitting an image that represents their favourite GAA Moment in Time. Full details here.
We just thought the tweet was a really good example of Irish humour and the volunteering spirit of the GAA.

Heading to Aviva tonight, god help me. But the real buzz at the moment is Galway. Love this picture! Captures the GAA at grassroots level and a far cry from the Dubs selling preview breakfast for 10, at 2 and a 1/2 grand, with option to spend another grand on match tickets. The guy in the photo gave the shirt off his back for his club! Literally.
“the Dubs”
Yet another mullah with a chip on his shoulder.
Mullah? Your use of language is inspiring.
Technical question for ya Brother.
Is the correct etymology ‘Mullah’ or ‘Mullagh’?
Both are resonant tbf.
I’ve been involved in Dublin GAA clubs and saw no two grand breakfasts.
The Ballsbridge Hotel, Thurs 14th Sept, 7-9 am. Look it up.
They’ll probably erect some ramshackle, ill-planned, poopy-stained old shack in the quadrangle to appease people like you ;)
Nothing says good wholesome fun like the toothless, slack-jawed grins of the serfs.
Why don’t EirGrid run another competition on the way they have spoiled and mutilated
the landscape.
