Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner, who has died aged 91

There once was a fellow called Hugh
Who made all his own dreams come true
He sold magazines
In which young beauty queens
Lay in poses that verged on the blue.

Did anyone hear the clowns on Newstalk prattling on about him this morning? The virtue signaling was off the charts! RIP Heff. you liked the ladies and you carried through with your dream with countless women who clearly knew what they were getting into and could leave anytime. and you weren’t a pedophile which is more that you can say about a lot of revered musicians and tv/movie industry people like Bowie and Polanski. The naysayers were just jealous.

I went to prague in 1998 . we bought a copy of playboy lingerie in the airport.
    it was glorious.
    I still have it.

although with the explosion of the net I went onto better stuff…

I remember when it finally went on sale here
    Early – Mid 90s
    And buying it
I remember thinking it was 22 pages of ads before there was an’ting to see that might have got a lad drooling

I know it’s a well rolled out gag bit the articles were brilliant

I can’t remember when I stopped buying it but I moved onto VF
But there was easily 10 years of them thrown out recently

        Ah no
Just bought it to see what all the fuss was about at the start
        Like twas banned here originally

When it eventually went on sale here there was a big hoo hah around it

And then picked it up then whenever I was traveling whatever for a few years before I got onto VF

And I’ve been a VF buyer for about 20 years
I was never inta Hello or Women’s glossies

        Messing aside
The playboy articles were actually top notch and a natural segue to VF
Even the letters pages are the same

…I remember my partner had a stash of mags called Playgirl back in ’95…she was over and back to the UK a lot so I assumed she bought them there…

All that money and yet he resorted to living with prostitutes. And that’s not opinion its fact. Some of his ex “girlfriends” have stated sex was expected in return for their free lifestyle. Sex for goods=prostitution

You really think so huh? I watched some of those shows with Kendra and co, and I have to say I’d rather invite a bag of stray cats to my home.
