Numbers on the dole are going down, numbers in employment going up. Why would we need tax increases to pay for social welfare costs?

    “Britain ducks the sex question”

    Feminists enraged.

The dysfunctional child of Women’s Studies that is ‘Gender Studies’, it appears, has come home, and Mama doesn’t like her creations demands…

    Funny. And sad.

And yes, it is ridiculous to remove gender from the census.

Census questions are very closely monitored for their relevance and changes are often made. Where did I argue the census itself should be discontinued?

          1. Clampers Outside!

I didn’t say you said that it should be removed altigether, it’s a silly rhetorical question, to reflect your own one of its “none of anyone’s business”, which could be said of any question in it…. in fairness. Its not an argument, nor a point, it’s your statement.

If u make such commentary, expect a similarly silly response.

There are numerous reasons for collecting data given on any census website.

You made several affirmative statements not one of which you have backed up with a shred of evidence to support your point of view, frustrated that your position is now undermined I see you resort to lecturing me how I “should” write posts. Seriously, is there something wrong with you?

Not sure which paper thats in reference to, but why in gods name would they drop gender from the census?

I guess i can see adding a few more options, but dropping it? That sounds like some misreporting. There’s no way they would drop one of the most basic questions from a census.

Another rentagob sounding off. Provide some evidence to show why it’s relevant or get lost.

            1. @Pat Kenny’s wife: not all of the population was born in the country.

            2. There are huge life expectancy differences between men and women – so known the sex of your aging population is important for planning purposes.

            3. Saying all that, it is possible that the census [in it’s door-to-door format] will no longer be required as the various State agencies link their IT systems. Between Revenue and Social Welfare 99% of people are identifiable.
And if you include additional info like Leap cards you can get an idea of the commuting habits of people.

I’m aware that there is a small minority that aren’t registered – but they are unlikely to fill in the Census either.

Who do FF plan to put forward as a nominee for president? Their brand is still as toxic as Chernobyl

Look at all the free trash these papers are giving out. LOOK AT IT!
You don’t need to read the drivel printed in the pages, just gather up all the supplements and make your own paper!
Imagine yourself reading the Sunday Broadsheet made up of cookbooks, UVF shenanigans, betting scams and coupons for absolute trash!
    AHHHHHH!

        It’s Sunday.

Can we not get into this today? The most pressing thing I’d like to think about is whether to get out of my jammies or not.

            :D

I’ve got the popcorn on and the treats out. We’re watching the Book of Kells.

If you haven’t watched it, do.

Clampers is always on the look out for something to be offended about….mumble mumble feminist…mumble islam…..mumble gender

          1. Clampers Outside!

No, not on the look out, not offended… more of an eyeroll and a laugh at the stupidity of it.
Regressive nonsense in the news around feminism, gender studies and Islam, as you mention them, is so prevalent today it’s not hard at all to see and point out, in fairness.

Earlier in the week was this side splitter on so called fearless girl statue….

Those attempting to shame others and virtue signal their own moral piety found guilty of the crimes they claim to fight…

Classic regressive tactic backfire… come on, it’s damn funny!

          2. realPolithicks

            “virtue signal”

You do love your right wing buzzwords, you’ll be calling me a “snowflake” next.

          3. mildred st. meadowlark

Sure we’re all at it today, biggins, my dear. I’m going to put it down to the weather.
