He’ll be back within the month I’d say.
I like Graham and his work a lot but I heard him on a podcast recently and he came across like he thinks he’s the God of Twitter, it was toe curling.

      +1
It’s like a kid running away from home and hiding at the side of the house until teatime

Yep. only looked at his twitter for a little while but I thought he came across as quite sanctimonious.

HOWEVER, he gave us Ted so shu’up!

    Ah Glinner, don’t go!

His links are top notch. I’ve read a lot of interesting stuff because of him over the last few years. Twitter can be a sewer at times, especially the racists, MRAs, gamergaters etc that dogpile people.

It might be due to Rose McGowan having her account suspended after her accusations against several Hollywood A’list scumbags and their ‘God’ Harvey Weinstein. Bias.

He, along with many others, have openly expressed their dismay that twitter allows neo Nazis to do what they like (even verifying them) and they allow Trump to use twitter to threaten nucleur war but people who chew out nazis get banned. In this case, Rose McGowan told Ben Affleck to go fupp himself after he condemned Weinstein as Affleck has sexually assualted women in the past. She got her account suspended. People have decided that was a straw/camel’s back moment.

Ben grabbed someone’s breast (someone who’s famous now apparently) on MTV in the early 00s.

Hopefully people will seek alternatives to Twitter, Facebook and Google. All suffer from severely biased moderation.

      1. Pete

Is the BS moderation actually biased? I thought they just changed all the rude words to dinky twinkles ( which is about time and also class imho)

      2. bad@memes

        Take that back.
The Broadsheet Moderation is the Best in the World.

I won’t hear a bad word said about them.
        You people are sick.

  4. I.P.

He was having a daily mental breakdown of endless RTs about Donald Trump. It was so odd. Disturbing level of anti everything. Amazing he found the time to write and direst a tv show and spend time with his family. His life can only improve without Twitter, it wasn’t a happy place for him.

      1. I.P.

I loved all his shows (except the old man kids show), his decent into crazy twitter man got very sad. It must be exhausting to have that level of engagement in American politics and it’s not even your full time job.

  5. Bar

I ended up unfollowing him a few weeks ago as he was insufferable and my twitter feed was overwhelmed by his Tweets, likes, and re-Tweets. The chap is absolutely obsessed.

  6. H

I unfollowed him a long long time ago, people who use twitter for serious social commentary and think it will change anything are on a hiding to nothing and are leaving themselves open to serious disappointment.

  7. Guy Bague

It’s all about him and his family-based “look what they’ve done to me now” agenda. The Brendan O’Connor of Twitter.

Good riddance. Commentary on Irish life when not even resident in the country.

Can we get rid of that ex-RTE whinebag @tellydubby export too?

Bet 10 bucks he’s back. Another Stephen Fry.

  8. bad@memes

How do know if someone is on Twitter or not?
    – It wouldn’t be related to their intellect or anything like that, would it? Surely it isn’t that simple?

Glinner is a Social Justice Warrior. He was po-faced in his Hot Press days and that was nearly 30 years ago. If you’re not nice at that age, then there’s no hope for you.

  10. Smith

I was blocked by him, for saying Father Ted was the only thing I liked from his output. Didn’t mention his account in tweet, so he was searching #FatherTed. That says it all.
