He, “deeply regrets some of his on-line comments”? Governments have fallen for less. But then, Ireland couldn’t even elect a government, a Taoiseach is there by some sort of twist of fate. The North is being run by civil servants. The border will be re-introduced because of Brexit. As an earlier commenter mentioned Bertie Ahern’s quote, “This is Ireland’s moment”. I’m so proud, I can hear The Artane Band playing Amhrán Na Bhiann in my head.

I, it seems, in the past, may have been guilty of “over-sarcasmisation” {I know it’s not a word, but?}. I’m in group therapy about the whole sarcasm thing, I really thought I was making progress.

@realPoliticks Every day, in every way, I’m getting exactly the same (sorry, better). Hello, my name is Shayna and I’m a Sarcast. I think I’ve spent too much time in Blighty, Jeez, they really know how to do sarcasm over there.

I’m just reeling from the virtually unprecedented news that one of these yokes RESIGNED over anything. No harm, and definitely no loss.

      1. realPolithicks

In other words “I done nothin but they’re making me go”…I think they call those a “non apology” apology.

  2. Sheik Yahbouti

upon ‘mature reflection’ I see he only resigned from the executive. We continue to be obliged to maintain this dirtbag in the style to which he is accustomed.

Anyone remember that Vanessa Foran said last night on the local channel?

Barry Walsh was a High Ranking Fine Gael Troll

A Political Troll at the highest level of the Fine Gael Party.
I doubt he is the only one.

  4. Daisy Chainsaw

Jousting implies back and forth interaction. Walsh just screamed “bitch” at any woman whose opinion he didn’t like.

Clown, a bizare clown who has a lot of arguments in his own head I’d say. Stupid to think he could say those things in a public forum like Twitter, worryingly stupid.

If he was an oul lad or yer aunt you could say ah the poor oul divil doesn’t know how th’internet works

    1. Sheik Yahbouti

Yes, Toni. he is – and thee and me (and our descendants) will pay his pension. Doesn’t that give you a warm, comforting feeling?

Its odd that the very women he called ” bitches” didn’t complain . It took a 3rd party to research his twitter history to land him in bother. Nasty and vindictive and riding on the gale of wind that is # me too.

    1. LW

Wait, the person who reported it was being nasty and vindictive, not the fella calling all these women bitches?

        1. Yep

If I had known he was doing it I would have done the same. If the wind of metoo blows this type of ladypart off his perch then blow blow away.

A grown man calling a a woman a bitch, on social media, in the name of “political jousting”….in his role for FG, deserves to be punished. Incompetent at best. You knew that already but decent attempt at stirring.

          1. Catherinecostelloe

No, I’m genuinely not stirring it. None called him out over a year ago on tweets that has now cost him his job. This is what was said on tv3 last night and wasn’t challenged. I never heard of him before frankly. But we are not a bit compassionate, he might have a mortgage, young kids and job gone. # me too has its benefits but what was wrong in emailing him and telling to issue an apology for previous tweets and to desist forthwith? And bitch / bitching / having a bitch is not obscene language. No offence meant Yep.

          2. LW

This is surely your most risible attempt to date.

Just in case anyone is foolish enough to accept your version of the tale, it was in fact Kate O Connell who distributed the screengrabs, and to the parliamentary party, not the press. As a result of him going after her on Twitter.

No compassion?! Why is it the fella with a career in politics, who goes on the internet calling everyone a bitch who deserves the compassion? Pity for his stupidity, maybe

        2. What’sSpaghettiHoopDoingTheseDays?

He savaged kate O’connell at an internal meeting
That’s why she took him out
