The creativity, transparency and innovation that are the watchwords of our government.
I like Coveney.
Seems like a decent fellow and understands that politics is about substance not socks.
I wonder how much he’s been involved in toning down Varadkar’s ridiculous outburst in Brussels a couple of weeks ago.
He is another lightweight. Very successful in housing. Very successful in his July deadline. .? He is Noonans successor to Bilderberg
Now that we know what we know, though, wouldn’t you prefer him over Varadkar?
I think he’s OK, but I wish a bigger deal was made about how much of a problem the housing crisis is.
I know this is not the case, but it gives the impression of “You tried to ease the housing crisis, but it got progressively worse during your tenure, here’s your reward”.
It’s not how workplaces work, so it’s not how the Dáil should work.
+1
It’s not how workplaces work, therefore it is how the Dail works, reality or logic does not come into it, sadly.
As I wrote yesterday solving the housing crisis is well nigh impossible when a city the size of Waterford of non-nationals arrives in this country every year.
Imagine what will happen when some of those hundreds of thousands of Irish people who left start returning as the economy continues to pick up.
They’ll want places at school for their kids, hospital beds for their sick etc etc.
And as was subsequently shown by another commenter, your figures were completely wrong. You have a problem with comprehension. You should endeavor to conceal rather than showcase that.
” Of the 84,600 people who immigrated to Ireland in the year to April 2017, some 27,400 (32.4%) were estimated to be Irish nationals. ” Source: ONS
Even when you try to be serious you fail badly.
True. But, diversity, cuisine, insert meaningless platitude here.
In 2016 net migration into Ireland was only 3000. That was the first year since 2009 that more people were coming in than going out. Stop talking through your hoop.
“It’s not how workplaces work, so it’s not how the Dáil should work”
Lucky you – most places I’ve worked have people in management that shouldn’t be. It’s a common failing called the “Peter Principle” which was coined almost 50 years ago: “managers rise to the level of their incompetence”
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle
He’s boring.
Trump is exciting
Coveney, the guy is the very definition of an empty suit.
Who’s dream, not mine anyway.
I remember Simon making, un-fulfilled, promises on affordable housing that seem to have been forgotten about. Not a great start.
Can Josepha speak Irish?
and not an ounce of empathy between them…
Leo farted but Josepha thinks it was Simon.
