That aside, I would happily lash back a G&T right now. Well, G&GA. I don’t like tonic.

I have that Gunpowder Gin at home. Nice.

And I’m a big fan of Tanqueray 10.

        That photo makes me happy.

          Tanqueray10 is superb, isn’t it?
If haven’t, try a German one – Monkey 47. Coincidentally, O’Briens have it now.

Perhaps I’ll bring a bottle over next time.

You don’t get emotional and weepy on gin, do you? Couldn’t handle that.

Funny. I was going to buy it but said I’d hold off until Christmas (monkey). I tried it on hols and thought it was gorgeous. It’s cheeky enough price-wise but worth it, I’d say.
Sadly, these days I’m a complete two-pot screamer.

thing is, doubt they’ll have it for much longer. counter fellow recommended one from Portugal a few months ago – sharish blue, if I remember correctly – and it was fupping amazing, but haven’t been able to get it since.

They have it in Tesco Rathfarnham. If they have it there, they have it everywhere, it’s up to YOU, New, York, NEW YORK!

As already pointed out by our esteemed colleague, it’s from Waterford, but we’ll let it pass ’cause they make great gin.
Their N° 5 is one of my favourite tipples.
And yes, I agree on Gunpowder.
I have recently started adding my own botanics to gin (Gordons or the Lidl stuff); couple of pink peppercorns, cardamom pods, lemongrass, hibiscus flower and juniper berries – let it macerate for a couple of weeks.
    Nectar of the gods.
And while we are on the subject of tea, was thinking of trying a dash of Earl Grey next time.

Got a kit for Xmas and when that worked, started experimenting. The Lidl gin is only 8.50€ a bottle here, so I can afford to make the odd mistake.
Quantities of botanical are tiny: 5 peppercorns, 3 cardamom pods, 1 inch of lemongrass, 1 hibiscus flower. I have rethought the Earl Grey idea and might just replace the lemongrass with a little bergamot lemon skin. Will let you know how it turns out.
And yes you strain out the bits when you’re done. I recommend regular tasting after the first 5/6 days, the flavours build v quickly.

Oooh. Lemongrass. Is that not a bit overpowering? Interesting.
We had hibiscus flowers one NYE to throw into our bubbly. I just remember sweetness, no real flavour though.
I might give the Earl Grey idea a lash: cheers!

      I’m liking that cardamom idea
I do my own spiced runs occasionally ginger and orange peel
