I could have sworn the UK produced a Brexit briefing paper in July promising no hard border and technical solutions to the border issue.
Oh,hang on a minute they did.
And didn’t Socks stamp his feet in a hissy fit and demand the UK propose EXACTLY how they would police a border in the event of leaving the Customs Union or he wouldn’t sign off on Stage One.
    Oh,hang on a minute,yes he did.
And didn’t the EU say they wouldn’t strong-arm Dublin into accepting a fudge after the DUP threatening to pull the plug.
    Oh,hang on a minute,they did.
    You’ve been had,Spuds.

        Not when you’re using the Queen’s English,Patrick.
Of course, boggers might have their own particular patois.

            Not me old cock.
            I pound away like a sledge-hammer.
But it’s Friday and scoops await so I’m not really giving it the full 100% in this thread.
            Just keeping my hand in.

@Broadsheet I have to mention my certain disappointment in the moderation of comments of late. There appeared to be a purge on the use of the word, “shit” in many of its forms.
However, vitriolic comments, laden with derisive words such as, “Paddy, Mick, Spud” escape moderation.
Katie Hopkins-esque rhetoric may sell papers in the UK, but I fail to see the benefit of allowing similar types to grandstand on BS.
Broadsheet.ie was, in my opinion, a champion of “Leftish” opinion, now it appears to bow to “Rightish”.
So, it is with regret, Broadsheet, I’m firing myself (from commenting). Thank you very much for the opportunity to allow some of my comments to be posted over the years.
    Slán.

      Hello Shayna,
I would very much hope that you continue to post your comments. I would agree with the comment above that Charger Samons has just become very very tedious – same old thing over and over. Very much a one trick monkey without any imagination or creativity or thought. You will see that people do not even bother responding to him any more. Hopefully he will learn a new routine or else just fupp off.
It would be a real pity if you leave. Please dont.

+1 Killian. Shayna don’t leave, there will always be racist tools on sites like this. No-one in real life will listen to their ramblings so they spout online. I haven’t had comments moderated but I can imagine how infuriating that would be, especially over versions of skitterati ;-) whilst racist slurs pass through moderation, seemingly freely. Maybe now that you’ve voiced your feelings, things will change x

What you really want is a nice, warm cosy echo-chamber where everything is right-on and people can virtue-signal away to their heart’s content.
Are you seriously that thin-skinned that you think someone calling you Paddy is racist when your own former Taoiseach uses the same word to describe the people who elected him ?
      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ue33PxM9Ae0
Are you such delicate little wallflowers that you really think Spud is racist ?
I have news for you.POTATOES ARE TUBERS NOT A RACE.
And ” Oooooooooooooooooooooh, that nasty Adam Boulton called us you Irish – how very dare he ? ”
Is the inferiority complex and sense of entitlement so ingrained in your psyche that you feel compelled to take offence so easily yet entitled, because you’re Irish and down-trodden ( here’s where a bit of aul’ Christy Moore should be played ) that you can say whatever bilious nonsense you want about the Tans ?
Because it happens all the time on Broadsheet and maybe, just maybe, they think if you want to dish it out you’ve got to be able to take it as well ?

The Andrew Graham Dixon interview with Johnny from a yew years back was excellent because Andrew is a real fan and once Johnny copped that he really warmed to him and opened up (No leftfield pun intended)

Brexit is akin to the English willy warming crochet society asking their teenage sons try small, medium or large knits. This post is completely unbiased… obviously.

Oh dear,Saturday morning censors are busy.
    Truth hurts.
Then again, while BS DOES value me as a commenter, the whole ‘spud’ and ‘mick’ thing I do IS becoming quite tedious and aggressive. I better dial it back a little so as not to get banned outright.
